Re: Guiseley V Solihull Moors updates 21/10/2017
Carter has been a big disappointment all season, where was the lad from coventry ?
I notice Guiseley have gone full time this week not that it affected the result, does that leave us as the only part timers in the league cause it certainly shows.

I think there are still a few teams who aren't full time but we are proper part time if we only train two nights a week whilst I imagine the other part time teams train quite a bit more. Fitness might be an issue with the number of late goals but in the main it is the players not being good enough, not helped by the amount of loan signings through a rotating door.

Not sure going full-time would change much unless we can get rid of the dead woods.
Going full-time would probably cost the club more money as most players would not sign full time at the current wage.

Re: Guiseley V Solihull Moors updates 21/10/2017
Bad weekend rounded off tonight with that load of shite in london. The only way is up now for moors tho this season. Bottom of the league. Still think we can stay up tho give the manager time to get rid of the players that are simply not good enough and we will be alright but until that happens then its going to carry on. At the end of the day its only the 21st of october.

Re: Guiseley V Solihull Moors updates 21/10/2017
That was a very disappointing performance. Nothing has changed I actually think we were better in possession under the old manager. Yes we lost but mainly by the odd goal and within that we had chances. Our defending was terrible for the free kick today. I think carter has been poor all season, Daly don’t look the same player either and maybe kiddy have got away with moving him off that 2 year contract. I really don’t no what to say, I’m positive but we seem to have gone backwards which is a big worry.

Re: Guiseley V Solihull Moors updates 21/10/2017
Having watched every match this season, this was arguably the most disappointing I’ve been all season. We were coming in to the game off a win (albeit against Ossett) against a team who will be in and around us at the end of the year. This was definitely a “6 pointer”.
I wasn’t too sure of the starting XI - it appeared the manager had set up for a 0-0 draw or try and punch a 1-0 but that went out the window when we conceded and, to be fair to Money, he made the brave move of changing it after 26 mins to go more attacking.
I actually thought going forward we did some good things. We created some good chances which we had to take and Dapo took his goals well. I though our fullbacks played very well and was surprised to see them be taken off. Asante was poor; he didn’t look match fit or interested. I sincerely hope this changes.
Our issues are in midfield and at the back. We have one midfielder, Carter, who simply doesn’t have the legs anymore to play week in week out. He also creates very little so offers nothing to the team. Our other midfielder, Richards, keeps losing the ball and getting caught in possession. We have good front 3 or 4 but our midfielders don’t give them anything.
Losing the ball in midfield leads to our defenders being caught out and they aren’t quick enough so are constantly caught on the counter attack which leads to us conceding so often.
I don’t think anything has changed since Liam left and the new manager can only use the “I’ve been here for 2 weeks” excuse for so long. With having so much experience I would like to think he would have made a difference by now and the fact we are now training every day apart from Fridays instead of just Tuesday and Thursday under Liam.
We have the nucleus of a good side but we need to get that one win which should hopefully give the group of players confidence and build.
On a finalnote, a shout out to the fans who braved the driving rain and wind today and having to make another trip to Yorkshire in the space of 4 days.
See you Tuesday!!

Yes well said Widnes shout out to the fans. Awful weather awful ground and second trip in a week to Yorkshire. Can't think of anything worse.
I can feel your pain from 6000 miles away I have to ask is Carter good enough to be the midfield anchor. Maybe Tonks moved on too soon. Jack Byrne might be available.
I also have to ask the formation yesterday.
3 centre half's 3 full backs and just one striker a player coming back from injury on his own in a new side ???
Where did Liburd play. Did we play three centre backs ? Were Green and Bowen pushed on as wingbacks? Where was the Coventry lad ? He was good people said last week. It's a shame but the usual reaction to a new manager hasn't happened.....!!!!
I didn't think it would happen but we've dropped down the table !!!!

Re: Guiseley V Solihull Moors updates 21/10/2017
It’s going to take time for Money to clear out some of this dead wood and find replacements. Unfortunately there is a lot of it.
Money needs to do something radical quickly to jolt the squad. For me I’d rid both Daly & Carter. Both past it, both think they are bigger than the club, I mean look at Carter’s hair for starters....what’s that about? Does that signify a battling midfielder scrapping to keep us up. Daly has come back thinking he’s untouchable and he’s been nothing short of ridiculously pathetic.
Fat....Slow....Useless the pair of em. Get rid of them today please Richard.

Well said, Swifty - but hopefully some positive threads from you , shortly .
A number 1 all over for Carter could be a good start plus regular sessions at Weight Watchers !!.
Carter and Daly may be good enough for Evostick League but not this one.
If we loose at Eastleigh on Tuesday , relegation beckons.

Re: Guiseley V Solihull Moors updates 21/10/2017
I think the Squad we have is the best our budget can get. Let’s be honest Money has come in and signed loan players like LM and a player from step 3 like LM. So clearly nothing has changed. The difference is LM has brought a few duds in but also a lot of good lads from lower. I’m 100% sure money didn’t no much about Bowen as why would he coming from that low. The formation baffled me yday. If I could tell it looked like Liburd was playing on the wing with Asante and Shep???
Whatever it was it was bad tactics and the preparation was terrible if that was the game plan. What is Kieth doing in all of this??? We never mention him but he coach’s them and surely he knows the players by now to tell money Liburd is a fullback.
He’s very experienced but didn’t do nothing from what I could see with LM and nothing has changed with money. Maybe that’s the change we need also. Fresh ideas.
Carter has been poor but his hair is irrelevant lol
Daly has been terrible since coming back and even worse since LM has gone. I don’t think he should be an automatic choice at the heart of defence. Maybe a spell out would do him good as he’s not leading like last season.
