Clive, many thanks, and given we are currently in Phitsanulok, Thailand, about 6000 miles away, we shall indeed be listening in, starting at 9.00 pm. But then it is about 6.10 pm here now.

Shirley.
For the record - lost 2-0. Both goals in the first half, and both preventable. First a ricochet bouncing in from a clearance after the visitors keeper had launched a free kick. Gurd claimed handball, so proof absolutely nothing wrong with the goal! Second due to some Keystone cops defending - a tap in after Wycombe had twice hit the bar with headers.
Cue the old cliché - concentrate on the league.

Re: Solihull Moors v Wycombe Wanderers 05/11/2017 Commentaries
Thought we huffed and puffed as usual story of our season with no real cutting edge, i'm sure wycombe were playing within themselves though.
Positive were the goalie and st ledger looked assured at the back
Negatives poor crowd attendance 1500 more than half wycombe supporters, moors attendances are dropping off alarmingly, no one wants to watch losing football every week, wait till the cold snap starts then attendances will plummet.
Only people to blame for that are the board, no ambition, no hope of staying up, while other teams we were competing with last season have kicked on we have gone backwards.

First goal, defo "hand of God" handball by Akinfenwa to tap the ball on to Freeman to convert. Everyone but Martyr and the officials saw it, neither Wycombe nor their fans celebrated for several seconds, it was bloody surreal, the only likeness between Akinfenwa and Maradonna being their shape.
If we can perform to the level attained in the second half we have a chance of redeeming the season.

Thought we played well today especially 2nd half where i thought we were unlucky not to get a goal or 2. Thought the atmosphere was absolutely dyer tho for a game like this. Just got to put that 2nd half performance into next week. I hope the supporter is alright who passed out in the bar earlier.

Re: Solihull Moors v Wycombe Wanderers 05/11/2017 Commentaries
Wycombe were always in control and I thought after going 2-0 up mid way through first half, they eased up slightly and we had a much better second half.
But if we had brought it back to 1-2,they seemed to have the capacity to move up a gear or two and would have probably scored again.
Positives were an impressive debut by Sean St Ledger and Jermaine Hylton's work rate was good but unsure whether he is a good enough goal scorer at this level to trouble National League defences. He is a skilful player and I like him as a player but think Dapo should play more up front than Jermaine. Aswasi had a slightly better game than he did against Flyde but still looks uninterested in doing much hard work.
Anyway, nice sunny afternoon and I will be back for the Sutton game!

Re: Solihull Moors v Wycombe Wanderers 05/11/2017 Commentaries
Wycombe controlled the game. In the second half they dropped off. It made us look better - and we were....a bit.
It would be easy to highlight all sorts of shortcomings....but for me we need to get some kind of control on the midfield. The guys just don't know what to do with the ball there. So the forwards feed off scraps.
Asante ? No different to the last time he was here. That's not a compliment, by the way....
The atmosphere was pretty flat wasn't it.A home tie against a league team, and yet the attendance was c1500, which, when you consider the away contingent is pretty disappointing.
Sorry not to be more positive but that's just the way I saw it.....

Positive performance, definitely something to build on today.
Positives... St Ledger & Hylton. To those who think relegation is certainty... I wouldn't throw the towel in yet.
