Re: Even Better News
I'm really pleased he's back, but I do wonder where we're getting the money for transfer fees from. I imagine there was a buy back price agreed in the original deal but I can't see Grimsby wanting to make too much of a loss.
Maybe it's an investment assuming he helps us stay up and then moves to a bigger club another year down the line?

Re: Even Better News
Grimsby have suggested they got their money back which probably confirms the talk at the time that they didn’t pay much for him in the first place. Great news for us and gives us a slim chance of avoiding the drop. It’s a shame it didn’t work out for Jamey (albeit good news for us) but can’t blame him for putting family and happiness first. Have to laugh at Grimsby fans making out he is throwing away his dreams - I doubt he dreamt of playing for Grimsby when he was a kid somehow.

Re: Even Better News
Unbelievable news!I feel really positive about the rest of the season. We now have a genuine chance of staying up and the teams who are around us will not like this news.
Congratulations to the board and everyone else who has made this happen,it shows real ambition.Welcome back Jamey I havent felt so happy in ages!

Re: Even Better News
I am very pleased about Jamey returning on a permanent basis. He is a class attacking mid fielder, just what we need. He has tried full time football and it appears that, for now anyway, he prefers part time and living back in Solihull. I understand his wife and children never moved from Solihull since Jamey' s move to Grimsby in Jan 2017 so being away from them a great deal of the time must have been tough.
He had a job in the electricity industry before going full time so wages from that, if he returns to it, added to the pay he gets for playing part time for the Moors probably matches what Grimsby paid him.
So great for Moors he prefers to put his family and quality of life before being a pro.footballer. He might try it again if the right club and manager ( I have heard he did NOT get on with Grimsby' s defence minded manager, Russell Slade at all) in the future but for the moment, we have the pleasure of watching him glide past players and scoring goals like the one against Tranmere Rovers!

Re: Even Better News
On another note, a possible addition to the Jamie's magic hat song...
Squeeze in somewhere,
"He went to play for Grimsby,
But hated fishy t.w.at.z"
NotT likely to be taken up, but I'm so happy with the news, after four beers I liked it.... probably less so tommorrow.
