6 Nations

I always enjoy this tournament each year on TV and occasionally have been to matches where the atmosphere is just brilliant.
Tomorrow, with no Moors match, I will watch Wales v Scotland on TV, and for once I have to support our little neighbours to the west. It'll be tough but they seem to be back to their traditional role of underdogs with their opponents, the sweeties, on the up.
The main event will of course be from Rome on Sunday with the boys in glowing white taking on Italy. That'll be easy to decide who to support, but calling on for Wales is going to be a real challenge.

Don't believe the hype around the Jocks. Wales always will overpower them in Cardiff. Injuries will make this sixth nations a thriller - maybe not the highest quality possible but youngsters grasping their opportunities.

Ireland/England to be the deciding fixture.

I've never taken to the posher version of 'the wrong shaped ball', nor the idea that running with the ball clutched to one's chest could even remotely be related to, or described as, some kind of football as the only two reasons for kicking seem to be to kick it off the pitch or to kick it over the bar, and there's more than enough of that in the National League. I'll just have to suffer the next few weeks in silence and only stick my head above the parapet when normal Moors' service is resumed. So, whilst Mrs O sloths in front of the telly watching her countrymen I shall be hoping that Torquay beat Barrow, Wrexham beat Guiseley and Dagenham beat Halifax. Ho hum.

Rugby certainly has less crowd segregation , you can take alcohol into the stands , far less players trying to con the ref , than football.

I prefer football at Solihull Moors FC , as although football is tribal , there has never been any crowd trouble and it still feels very much a family / homely club.

My hope is the English FA can finally get over Hillsborough and get brilliant atmosphere, back to our grounds. Old Trafford is very much " manufactured " atmosphere. I think Crystal Palace is one of the best , for passionate support , in the higher league.

Worst aspect of the Wales v Scotland match is the two dreadful anthems. That" Flower of Scotland" (a tenacious weed anywhere else in the world) is by far the worst, even than our royalist jingle. I'll give Wales the anthem, its awful but the crowd sing along OK.

Here we go with the 3rd place decider then.

Scots trying to be too pretty with their passes. Imagine that. Leave the flashy stuff to the good teams.

Wasn't expecting that!

Appreciate I'm biased, but I love Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau. Give the rugby crowd their due, its hair standing on the back of the neck stuff. Rousing - and miles better than the dirge you lot have!!!

What's up Martyr has your spell checker been on the bevvies?May I just remind you that that dirge is The British National Anthem. Awful I agree, but still your actual anthem.

The Jocks will play like that against Wales, but will always raise their game when they play England as there is far more kudos in doing well against us. This is the year when we play all the blue shirts away, so we have to beat France and the Sweaties away from Headquarters. Makes it a bit more competitive.

Italy win the National Anthem contest by some distance.
Honourable mention for France.

In other singing "Swing Low.." is the best.

I doubt Scotland will be looking forwards to playing anybody now, even Italy.
