Away Travel Information
Dear All
Following a number of late cancellations when running the coaches this season it was decided at the last meeting of the SMSA committee held on 20th January the following policy would be agreed regarding away coach travel:
•Early bird payments to be paid in advance by the date specified,
•Non-early bird payments to be paid in full one week before game,
•Cancellations on the day to be paid in full,
•For cancellations made before date of travel, refunds to be decided by the Away Travel sub committee
This will allow us to run coaches without making unnecessary losses.
Coaches are planned for the following games:
Halifax – 24 March 2018
Tranmere – 2 April 2018 (Easter Monday)
Hartlepool - 7 April 2018 - Subject to demand
AFC Fylde – 21 April 2018 (Last Away Game)

Re: Away Travel Information
Alright i wont discuss in private. What i will say is that MOST people cancel for a very good reason. So it just seems abit unfair that if some1 cancelled because they were ill or something like that they would probably not get their money back. If you cancelled cuz you were on the lash the night before then fair enough.

Re: Away Travel Information
so the person on the lash not slash can just say they are ill or something has happened. the committee running the coaches have worked hard on this and cant afford to make a loss on it.

Its a hard 1 because some1 could genuinely be really ill but on the other hand some1 could be just making an excuse not to go. Yes i get your point.

Re: Away Travel Information
Try getting a refund from National Express or any train company, virtually impossible. This is a sensible approach, losses cannot be expected to be borne by the SMSA. My concern is how to extract a cancellation fee from someone who hasn't paid in advance and then cancels, or fails to turn up, on the day.

I got a refund from them on the day of the orient game away. Went by train instead at a cheaper cost In august. Mind you it did take abit of persistence. Nearly happened to me with boreham wood last season was really ill but didnt want to lose out on money so still went to the game

I was also going to make the point about National Express but Ojive beat me to it.
Regarding your second point Ojive, one of the points that Dave mentioned was that all payments are to be paid one week in advance.
Fildes - Well done on getting a refund from National Express. Dave and the lads, who by the way are doing a good job on the coaches, are just trying to make sure that everyone is aware of the refund rulings.
I applaud them for their openness with us.
