Reminder that the day of our home game v Torquay is the deadline for the discounted price for seats on the Moors fans coach to Tranmere. The Villa & Blues are not playing on Easter Monday so it's an ideal time to all get behind the Moors

A well designed poster with alot of thought put into it and...

Congratulations on saying Easter Monday, rather than Celebration Monday.

In other words over the top Political Correctness can be a barrier, to a clear line of communication.

I’ve genuinly never heard of Celebration Monday and I’m an easily offended, foreigner loving commie snowflake.

I never heard of Celebration Monday but I think some orthodox Christian religions do call it Bright Monday or Renewal Monday. I am no expert on the subject but I am easily offended!

I get offended when it's called bank holiday Monday...I mean, why should middle class white bank workers get a day off while us peasants work our fingers to the bone?

I am enjoying the debate about what to call Monday 2 April, why not settle on "Visit Tranmere day on the Moors Fans coach". If you are free that day it would be great to see as many of you as possible there, preferably on the coach. If you are considering going to the game the club put up a link recently to purchase match day tickets in advance at a discount. The link doesn't seem to be working for our game at present, but will no doubt be available soon, so here it is if you want to make a £2 saving on the ticket price. https://www.trfctickets.co.uk/visiting-supporters

Reminder that this Saturday is the deadline for the discounted price for coach tickets for the game on Monday 2 April

If it wasn't for the bankers we wouldn't have any bank holiday weekends because as and when most transactions were done in cash, when the banks closed for their one day holiday, everyone else got a day off. Shops closed for one afternoon a week and all day Sunday and I'm just old enough to remember working men doing a six and a half day week, factories generally closed from Saturday lunchtime until Monday morning, just Christmas Day and Boxing Day off at Christmas then back to work and no New Year's Day off (except in Scotland). Aside from Bank holidays, most people only had two weeks annual holiday too. The reason for doing away with Sunday closing and moving to a 24/7 regime was supposedly to improve the economy and those that worked Sundays were 'volunteers' and were paid overtime - not any more, eh?

What a looooooooooong strange trip it's been

This is actually one of the factors in the growth of football as a professional spectator sport in the second half of the Victorian era (not that I'm saying you're that old, Clive). Factory/workshop workers would clock off at lunchtime, head down the pub for a pint or three, then make their way to the 3pm kick off, in which some of their mates might be playing too. The industrial revolution both (re)invented fixed working hours for urban industry, and invented the concept of a separate leisure time.
