Ups, Downs & Safety
Barrow bottling their 1-0 lead in injury time only to draw against Aldershot and Woking’s last gasp winner at Guiseley confirms Torquay’s relegation to the National League South.
Tamworth losing 4-3 to Chorley and Gainsborough losing 3-2 to Telford confirms their relegations our of the National League North.
Our mathematical safety will have to wait until at least Tuesday but it would take a monumentally freak set of results for us to go down now. Woking can match our points total but their goal difference is -20 whereas ours is -9.
If we fail to earn a point at Tranmere and Woking win approximately 11-0 vs Dover and a Moors loss against Eastleigh on the last day will see us relegated.

Re: Ups, Downs & Safety
If we lose 9-0 again to Tranmere then any defeat to Eastleigh coupled with any win for Woking and we're down.

Re: Ups, Downs & Safety
What the hell in gods name on earth are the impossible chances of Tranmere winning 9 0 again. We are basically safe. Salford got promoted today. We can look forward to going to manchester next season and taking the piss out of gary neville. (Banter obviously)
Chesterfield next season aswell. Enjoy the night guys.
Im in a very happy mood tonight.
We are staying up.

Re: Ups, Downs & Safety
I'm opening a beer now, but you know you should t ha e said that Fildes 😥
We are playing well and have a home game against bang out of form Eastleigh to sow things up, but I've suddenly become a very superstitious worry wart. your invocation of the gods, hell and probability is tempting me to join and attend dozens of religious institutions ahead of tuesdays match.😜🙏🏻
I'm almost certain Micky Mellon avidly reads this forum. A little advice Micky, you need a very fresh team for the crucial play off games, rest the first choice 16-20 players on Tuesday, it's the only prudent choice.

Re: Ups, Downs & Safety
Chesterfield aren’t quite down yet. They can match Morecambe on 44 points.

Not picking on you here Psycho, but here is the reality.
If we lose 4-0 against Tranmere and then the same against Eastleigh and Woking beat Dover 3-0, we are down. I AM NOT SAYING THAT WILL HAPPEN, but it will not take 9-0's and 10-0's to send us down.
I still believe (as I said in December and got laughed at) that we will stay up, but I can't celebrate yet.

Re: Ups, Downs & Safety
Given the odds, I prefer Clive's scrotum kissing promise if Carter played more than 20 games.
Admittedly it's unlikely (150/1 at the bookies) but we've seen inprobible and we were about that to stay up in November.
Let's hope we can get something at Tranmere so Fildes doesn't have to jump into the canal and I don't cry, we can party with a win against Eastleigh, knowing we are safe and after a celebration lap, retire to the bar where Clive can kiss his nutsack kicking off the party.

No no not at all Statto, I fully know that it won’t take 9/10-0 wins I was just using it to highlight the improbablility.
It’s all irrespective anyway as we will beat Tranmere on Tuesday.
