Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
I think we also have the potential for even more fans if we can increase the singing at home games.
Maybe we could approach local choirs? Led by BEN and BARD we could get the singing up to league 2 level

I don't think season ticket prices would have any bearing on attracting new fans. New fans would just want to sample one or two games before committing to a complete season.
The way to keep them coming back is to have a team playing attractive football and winning games. Then they might think about buying a season ticket for only £10 a game.

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
I know that season tickets give long term savings.
How about giving some sort of discount to other paying fans. e.g £2 or £3 off voucher with every 5 tickets purchased. Might be a bugger to administer, but would give an incentive to keep turning up.
Just a thought (Maybe a silly one but all ideas start somewhere)

I was going to say the same thing. Why are people still moaning about this? We can't keep charging North prices in our third year in the National.

It’s almost like we’re a real football club isn’t it?

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
Just did a quick glance...
Halifax £340
Maidnhead £150
Miadstone £270
Sutton £159 with 1100 people, taking an early bird at 139
Aldershot £300-340
Wrexham £240-360
Salford £150 early bird only 18-20 match day
Eastleigh £120
Dagenham £270* uncomfirmed
Orient 179-299
Dover £315
That's all I can be arsed with.. safe to say Moors are not bad value, and I won't be able to but a season ticket but £15 quid a dozen times a season seems ok to me.
Moreover we haven't got big money backing us. I weep when I see the costs involved in football and running a club, I wonder, always, why more don't go bust.
At a club like Moors we are generously backed (I guess) but by no means bankrolled like at leat half a dozen in our league. And we don't pull the sponsorship or gates as another half a dozen so I guess it's just make ends meet.
We've done amazing to be here, and stay here. If we can keep it going for another couple of seasons, then a new future could be on the horizon. Crowds of over 1250 next season on average would be a great start ...

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
The £10 ticket vouchers in the match day programmes are a good idea, especially if they are relatively early in the season. Can't remember which matches they covered this season, but I gave a couple to a work colleague. It's a good way of tempting "casual fans" to come along and experience a game. Get them hooked early in the season and they might feel compelled to attend regularly over the rest of the season.
Regarding loyalties to the Birmingham clubs, I'm sure there are plenty of people in Solihull that aren't originally from this area so didn't grow up supporting the Birmingham clubs (I'm in that category) Not sure how you tap into that demographic, other than local publicity, word-of-mouth, but there's got to be some way to get Moors onto their radar. I reckon a lot of Solihull-based football fans don't even realise Moors are as high up as the 5th tier of the football league.

We averaged 879 last season, so that's a big jump especially when that number includes the bumper crowd against Hartlepool thanks to all the tickets we gave away.
I only moan because I'd hope we pushed the boat out and tried to build up a bit of a campaign to get new faces through the gate. It's the numbers we need to build up, not the prices. Again, poor promotion towards the end of the season (when we were winning) and not a lot since. No point comparing the prices to teams in our league, it's not them we're competing with. Teams like Maidstone, Wrexham and Aldershot can charge more than us, they average well over 2,000. There is a lot of potential new fans out there, you can see that from games like Hartlepool and Aldershot at home, just need to get them down more regularly.
What I must say is the U23 ST price is fantastic but are we advertising it well enough? You could potentially get 200 of these sold, if not more, if it was promoted well.

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
Season ticket prices surely, surely make no difference to attracting more support?
Who is going to buy a season ticket for a club they've never visited?
