I thought the preseason games (especially ones against Blues) were always a tenner in? Guaranteed decent crowd so a few quid in the bank.
Think it'll only be the Blues game that will have any interest. The Burton game was like a senior cup game last year.
£10 for a friendly is a terrible price, just putting any potential fans on the back foot before the season starts. I thought they'd have learnt from the moaning last year.
I don't think it makes a lot of difference. The club hierarchy has been clear in its actions that prices won't be reduced on the off-chance of more people coming.

Re: Pre Season Games
It just puts people off from turning up for £10, including regulars such as myself. Just try and milk as much as possible from the regulars?
I've done the turnstiles enough times to feel the vibe about prices for such games. Fans actually turn up and decide to go home than pay to come in. You've then lost these fans for future league games. Hardly the best start to increase our gates.
My point wasn't to make it cheap as chips and we'll get hundreds of new fans, just don't mug the regulars off.
It's not even the Blues first team ffs.

Granted the Birmingham XI and Burton Albion games is ok at £10.00...
The other games should be £7.00 maximum.
This is the approximate price of a Cinema Ticket, for 90 minutes , where you can almost guarantee good entertainment !.
When was the last time you went to the cinema? I went yesterday and it was £13 to get in and if you wanted food and drink you had to pay silly money on top!

You do not really get singers at friendlies. We are normally catching up with each other about how great the Summer has been.
I understand what people are saying about the prices, but the club are caught between a rock and a hard place and trying to set the pricing for these matches is difficult.
Crawshaw - I understand in what you are saying in attracting new people, but if we charge £5 for a friendly against a Blues XI and then someone turns up for their first league match in August, then may shudder at the large increase to £15 when we are playing an "inferior" team.
With regards to people walking away from the turnstiles because of the price, how often does this happen? Have you ever mentioned to Windy?

I wasn't suggesting making the prices cheap to attract new fans, but don't make them too much to put people off. Slight difference, but I won't be paying £10 to watch a friendly.
I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned before.
Just think this and the season tickets, we haven't given us the best chances to increase numbers, which imo, should be the main aim.
