Discarding the Belgium game which was just a testimonial, I can’t help thinking that England are in the semis based on the fact they have faced 4 awful teams. I’d fancy a league one team to beat Sweden.
As much as I’d love to be wrong, the first time we come across a decent side (which could be the final) we will get hammered.
Oh !@#$ off. Negative tosser.

England absolutely bossed the game against Sweden; never looked like losing. What more do you want?
This is a Sweden side that took Germany to 94 minutes, and picked apart a talented and tactically astute Mexico side like they weren't there.
England aren't man for man the best side at the tournament, but have been excellently organised and got results commensurate with that, regardless of your thoughts on the standard of opposition.

Re: England in the World Cup
Swiftybollocks, replace the word 'England' with 'Moors'. Either support the team or shut the !@#$ up.

Blimey, all this vitriol for an expressing an honest opinion. Moors5 aside who countered my argument with a reasoned response, the rest of you are acting like militant left wing feminists.
Calling me a troll, swearing at me, threatening to punch me in the face! Is this a message board or a cult?

Re: England in the World Cup
The UK has apparent Freedom of Speech.
Thus people are entitled to their own set of beliefs and opinions, as long as it does not cause harm to others.
I think this is where the current problem lies in England.
Gareth Southgate raised the very valid point , that England had lost a sense of it's own identity.
Over the top Political Correctness, perhaps?

Re: England in the World Cup
Freedom of speech implies the freedom of others to call you names in response.
Political correctness and lack of identity my arse. People are running round shouting 'it's coming home' wearing English flags and nobody wants to stop them. Didn't Southgate mean that the team lacked a footballing identity?

Being the father of three daughters, I am proud to be a militant left wing feminist.
Incidentally, what does a militant right wing feminist act like?
