Re: England in the World Cup
Priti Patel maybe, although she never seems particularly feminine to me.
For me England's World Cup Squad have managed to beat all the relevant teams on their route so far. I think these teams went through some kind of qualification process involving a mini-league of teams from various areas of the world. It think all the great teams like Argentine, Germany, Brazil etc went through a comparable process too and haven't got as far as England. In short "You can only beat the team you meet".

Incidentally, what does a militant right wing feminist act like?
Can you name me one Right wing or right of centre militant feminist in the history of mankind?

Re: England in the World Cup
Didn’t Sarah Palin nearly get the Republican nomination with women’s rights being a large part of her trope?

Re: England in the World Cup
There’s a massive difference between Josephine Butler, a noble woman who wanted more rights for women than some pink haired, multiple pierced, angry, virtue signalling, usually very ugly, illogical Tampax transporter whose aim is not the promotion of women’s rights but the destruction of men (particularly white ones, as black ones are also “victims”)

I can see a lot of parallels between the way you view politics and society and the way you look at football.
But then again, maybe I'm seeing whatever I want to see. Death of the author and all that.
I don't want to claim expertise over an era and geography I only ever covered as an undergraduate, but my understanding was that Josephine Butler was seen by many men in her own time in exactly the same way you characterise a certain subset of 21st century feminists. And buying a thirteen-year-old just to prove it can be done is pretty militant.
Thankfully there's a semi final and a friendly tomorrow to get us back onto the football.
