I wasn't going to knock your door Clive I was just trying to make a point that canvassing means trying to get people to change their minds. I have done canvassing for a long time and it is a very hard thing to do. But please don't h8 on them I know a lot of people do. Canvassers are 1 of the most hated people. Can we please finish this convo now I'm getting abit annoyed.

Don't get annoyed, Ryan, and I wasn't getting at canvassers per se, indeed I did door to door selling in my very young days and I've also sold advertising by telephone cold calling, so I'm aware of how hard and soul destroying it can be. My post was tongue in cheek and would hopefully have brought a smile to your face.

Personally , I would like to see Solihull Moors go down the Salford City route:

But have some ex high profile West Midlands club footballers owning shares in the Club , ( as well as Trevor Stevens at the helm )

I think it would help attract a bigger home fan base. Yes , success on the pitch should automatically attract more support.

I am hoping Switch Radio is doing a good job on covering Moors matches, in a positive light.

Radio is one of the best forms of advertising ( apparently ).

Why don’t you just get some of your pals from Tamworth and Redditch to come down the Moors?

Most Tamworth and Redditch fans would never switch grounds.

Some people on this Forum are also incorrect, when they state Moors supporters also support a Premiership or League side - this is no longer the case in many cases.

It has been proven that more Non League supporters would not go back to their former league clubs , due to less comradeship, over paid prima donnas and plastic seat souless stadiums etc etc , amongst other things.

Psycho Mouse : just paid money to your Charity.

Yes , I also donate to the away coach raffle and have had a 8 × 4 Flag made at my own personal expense , which Statto and Andrew Kaar and many more know about.

This will be unveiled this coming Saturday.

You can hear how Switch are doing here. This is the review of the Moors Aldershot game with an interview with Tim.

I've spoken to people at a couple of Moors games this season who said they were disenchanted Blues fans that had decided to give Moors a try and loved it. However, I suspect those are fairly isolated cases.

As others have mentioned, attracting youngsters to the club is probably the main way a "new" club can grow its fan base - get them before another club does. This takes a few years to bear fruit, but success on the pitch helps to maintain interest, so solidifying our place in the NL is vital.

I started following Moors when I became a dad, as I didn't have allegiance to any other Midlands clubs (being a northerner) and I wanted my son to support his hometown club. He's now 4 and I took him along to his second Moors game on Saturday. He's still a bit young to enjoy a full match, but he's been talking about "the football" since then and wanted to take his new Moors beanie hat to nursery for "show and tell". He even chirps up with "Who let the Moors out..." every now and then.

I also brought a mate from Coventry along on Saturday with his son. They both enjoyed it, and commented on the good atmosphere in such humble surroundings... a contrast to the soulless, corporate "consumer experience" at bigger clubs. They plan on attending more games in future.

People seem to forget, this is only our 12th season and to be where we are from the brink of two clubs not existing anymore and even Moors being threatened with being wound up, with this amount of people watching is frankly amazing.

More support will come, we just need to keep doing what we’re doing.

Nice one bolda, pleased to hear that your son is enjoying his Moors experience. Something for you to think about, if you are not already a My Moors Member then consider joining for a £8 annual subscription and your lad can join for free and you never know he might just get for his next birthday a card signed by manager Tim Flowers. As you say catch them young.

Thanks for the prompt about MMM, have been meaning to set that up.

Despite growing up in the north, I've been a Southampton fan since I was a teenager so a signed birthday card from Tim Flowers would make my day, never mind my son!!! emoticon
