Yah yah yah, Land Rover workers are on shift, and those that live local know the club. As for the po po, I'm not sure why officers should get a discount over any other working man, but I like your ideas and enthusiasm,
The club needs to appeal to and attract people from all of Solihull and East Birmingham, that will need a succesful team and s PR exercise, but each of us need to talk the Moors up to our family and colleagues as the man in black said.
BTW, the average salary of the Boys in black is over 32k per year. How is £15 For a Moors match too expensive?
What do Police get paid for overtime if they attend a football match?

I think he could have phrased the "building a fanbase from scratch" comment better. Doesn't exactly show a great deal of respect for the current regulars who have been the making of the club for the past eleven years.

I dont think he meant it that way. I think it was more like if he was taking over a club such as Aston Villa or Blues (or even when he took over at Oxford), there were may disgruntled fans who had not been for years to see their team. The first attempt to increase the fanbase at those clubs to get their old fans back as they have an affiliation to that team. Then you work on getting brand new fans in.

With us, he is aware that we had some difficult years but the last three seasons have been successful in that they achieved their aims (Promotion / Survival / Survival) and as such we do not have a high number of fans that we can entice back as they have not really left us. As such it is possible "new" fans we need to make aware the club is here and then to get them to the club.

Well, that is owe I saw it.

That's fair. I was only reading the quote from Twitter, so I don't have the entire context of what he was talking about.

I don't disagree with your sentiments about the Police Busi, and I am not saying they should get a discount over any one else - as I have included Landrover in that idea too.

My thinking is these are organisations with huge employee numbers - and have fully established Sports and Social clubs which can provide FREE advertising. You think how many members they have, offer a discount and you'll get the employee's families attending too.

Businesses offering discounts to the Police works - its viable as lots of companies offer it. If there was nothing in it for them, they wouldnt do it.

As for Police salaries - I wont even get into that discussion but start taking pension contributions out of the salary and its not as great as what it looks (including the amount of working hours your doing weekly and the nature of the job).

Speaking to the Powers that Be , after the Forum:

* Sports Direct in Solihull were spoken to , for selling Moors tops , but deal was not quite right, at this moment in time.

* On Line ticketing is a priority issue.

* Social Media " live chat " will be looked into.

* Moors Supporter profile , each home game , will be looked at , to put into the Football Programme , with a possible Spot the Ball or Fan completion/ prize.

* Changing the Mindset, to get some Blues and Villa fans , to carry on supporting them, but to now follow Moors home and away, instead.

* On Line opinion poll / marketing company used , if cost effective , to raise brand awareness of the Club / increase footfall , from Supporter / Potential Supporter , feedback , on cost effective improvements , for the Club , to introduce.

Re the Stadium Darryl said that the problem is that there is an option on the ground with I think 5 years to run on the ground. The main problem being the inertia in not knowing, if we moved that would be fine as long as it was to the right venue and if we didnt move they would make improvements. The problem at the moment being the not knowing. They are going to address this as top priority. Either option is fine to move forward its just the uncertainty at the moment.
And yes re the new fan base i think it was a positive comment in admitting we are really a club thats only been going 11 years and so its about attracting new fans in - no one wakes up and says they want to go to solihull moors - somoene needs to entice them their - for me it was my brother making me go and even then it took 5-6 games to get me Hooked, this we ll need to work together to promote the Moors - like what we are doing t the food festival in solihull at the end of September to promote awareness

There is 4 years left on the option for JLR to buy the ground so DE is meeting with them soon to see their plans. He said that if they don’t want it, that is good as the ground has the right footprint to improve the stadium. If they do want it, that is OK and he can start looking at other options. At the moment, it is in limbo which makes it difficult.

I was impressed with the plans and whilst I’m a bit dubious about whether we will ever make it to the league or ever have a generation of fans growing up as Moors fans rather than Blue and Villa fans who watch the Moors, if anyone can do that, I think the new owners are the ones to make it happen.

They stated that they have a meeting set up for the near future with JLR management about the ground, given that works adjacent to the Moors has virtually ground to a halt due cash flow and uncertainty in the short term future I don't think JLR will want the ground anytime soon.

Let's not run before we can walk here.

Just a few things from what WASU has mentioned:

"On-line ticketing a priority ". Is it really a priority or a preference? I would have thought there are more pressing issues to sort. We also need to look at how the on-line ticketing will work. Print tickets at home? Pre-order and collect on the day? Remember, we do not have a Ticket Office.

"Social Media Live Chat will be looked into" The Social Media Team are doing a fantastic job at the moment and it is getting better and better. Let's make sure we do not devalue the people who are doing a sterling job at the moment. Same with Supporters Profiles in the programme. We don't need new owners for this, you can just email the programme editor. They are always asking for contributions.

Yes, seems the Moors are currently one of very few winners from all the Brexit uncertainty.
