Moors stall at Solihull Food Festival

Just wondered if anyone on here was involved in running the Moors stall at the Solihull food festival this weekend and could say if it generated much interest?

Hats off to all those involved throughout the weekend - it looked very good. Popped by briefly on Sunday afternoon (presumably a quiet time) and there seemed to be a few punters at the stall then. Hopefully there'll be a decent increase in attendance at the Ebbsfleet game which can be maintained for subsequent games.

Would have been nice to have a poster showing Moors' lofty position in the league table emoticon

Re: Moors stall at Solihull Food Festival

I was there for most of Friday and there was good interest, feedback from Saturday was that it was incredibly busy so that bodes well. Yesterday I popped along in the afternoon and it was quiet as surprisingly was the town centre.

The encouraging thing was that this year most people had heard about us and knew we were doing well in the league and had new investment, so the word is slowly getting out there.

Overall I would suggest another successful weekend for raising the Moors profile.

There was a steady flow yesterday and yes most that had any sort of footballing interest new the Havant result and they were doing well in the league. Let's hope the Ebbsfleet gate reflects the interest

Fair play to Kyle Storer for popping along on Sunday after playing at H&W on the Saturday.

I enquired about taking a handful of Ebbsfleet tickets to distribute at my workplace in Shirley (site with 700+ employees) but the chap I spoke to said it would be complicated as it wouldn't be possible to get the contact details of the recipients. Seemed like a missed opportunity to spread the net even further.

Anyway, got a free ticket for my wife to go to her first Moors game - she's from Yorkshire so jumps at the chance of a freebie emoticon

Hi, we couldn't really give out tickets willy nilly (got to keep a track of numbers)and we are collecting email addresses to all those that get a ticket to stay in touch but for that we need them to fill in a Data protection tick box. Yes - red tape i know but thats European legislation for you ! the Club were trying to give out tickets only to people that actually would come and also keep a track for safety issues on the numbers. Drop me your email and if you have a few people in mind I can ask Luke the media and marketing guy if we can get emailed copies of the forms to you or if there will be another chance to get them issued ?

Hiya. Completely understand the need to manage the distribution of free tickets to keep a handle on how many people turn up on the day (ST holders, free ticket holders, away fans and "pay-at-the-gate" fans) from a safety point-of-view. I didn't have a list of specific people in mind, just a thought of putting a post on our office bulletin board advertising the free tickets. In hindsight, I should have put a post on there before the weekend advising people to visit the Moors stall to pick up free tickets.

I still wonder if there was a way to do this that enabled people to take a handful of extra tickets to pass onto others (was only think maybe 5 or 6) Presumably there was a fixed number of free tickets to distribute, so by Sunday afternoon there might have been scope to dish out a few extras without running out of tickets before the stall closed. Granted it would be difficult to get the contact details of those who received tickets "second hand" but I'd assume getting people through the gates is more important than collecting email addresses emoticon. BTW this isn't intended to come across as criticism, just generating ideas for future promotions! emoticon

Anyway, it sounds like there was a good uptake of tickets which hopefully results in some new fans hopping onto the bandwagon while it's still heading on an upwards trajectory! emoticon

Collecting email addresses, especially of people who have shown an interest in the Moors, is the objective and the 'price' of receiving a free ticket.

Just because you have a free ticket to attend one game doesn't mean you'll use it, it may depend on the weather, but now Moors can use the email address for future promotions.

How dare the law try to protect the use of people's personal data!

Next year it'll be back to the good old days when everyone was in the yellow pages and teenagers were free to make prank calls to whomever they liked emoticon
