Re: Mark Yates

Was always gonna happen they have been on a torrid run so far this season. Thought he would of gone after the west ham game. I have always said that he should of stayed here. Bet he's regretting that now.

Sorry to hear that, with hindsight it was a tough gig to take on. I'm not convinced Macclesfield have the support base to ever very firmly establish themselves in the lower reaches of the Football League.

Not surprised, but I doubt he had the resources to do a proper job there. Good Luck Mark, you certainly did us proud.

Real shame. As Ojive said, Mark and Tim did a great job for us last year and were a great team.

Macclesfield were always going to struggle.

Could come back as Tim Flowers no 2?

Probably had to take the opportunity at a league club but always going to be a challenge with a small club and taking over from a successful coach. Be interesting to see where he goes now - look at Marcus. Stock was high when left the moors and now at a mid table conference north team.

Re: Mark Yates

Im very sorry for Mark, he was great here and really turned things around, the sole of his footprint is showing now. But, as with Marcus, we can hardly blame them for taking a pay rise with a solid full time contract.

Sad for them, these clubs see their achievements here and expect miracles (IE Moors had no money and look at what they did, we are trying to do even more on the cheap, they must walk into the door and achieve that)

Most importantly, it says so much more about the people behind the scenes at Moors. Marcus was given scant budget but supported all the way and given time he achieved his goals and carried this club forward. Yates came in, probably told us we needed more quality, got the cash did the business and has brought a Moors together that are building on that. Well done our board... Marcus and Mark gave great value added, shame their new employers had less about them than our board.

This also highlights the contribution Tim Flowers made in our success last season. We've picked up where we left off despite the change in manager. In fact, we're even stronger than last season with the excellent signings Flowers made over the summer.

No disrespect to Mark Yates, love the guy for what he achieved last season and rate him very highly. Really hope he bounces back with a decent job (but ideally not at a rival National League team!)
