Solihull 1-2 Telford
Well, a game that will not linger long in the memory. A good crowd of just under 1200 watched a sloppy and lethargic performance by the home side. Telford rode their luck on occasions – notably a clearance off the line and one that came back from the crossbar. However ultimately they ran out victors.
Similarities I thought with last week, however unlike that game where Solihull got out of jail with two second half goals it wasn’t to be today. Ironically most of the excitement came in the last 15 minutes or so of the game – including about 10 minutes injury time. After a good solo equaliser midway through the second half by Osbourne, some calamitous defending as we entered injury time resulted in the visitors taking the lead for the second occasion. To be fair, the hosts continued to press and rightly won (I’m told) a penalty with virtually the last play of the game. Some degree of argy-bargy. Followed by fisticuffs, resulted in Telford being reduced to 10 men. Yusuf took the spot kick which, whilst heading for the net, lacked power, allowing the keeper to save to his left. Almost immediately the ref blew the whistle, and it was left for the hosts to rue what might have been in terms of a trip to the Two Towers (I know I know, they are long gone).
And – if the club continues with this ludicrous ‘no pay on the gate’ approach there will be one fewer attendee in future.

Re: Solihull 1-2 Telford
Cash free turnstiles is a good future ambition but to thrust it on people so suddenly, well im not sure.
I'm more concerned with the over the top a stewarding, and standing rules involving the home fans.
I'm not discussing the game except to say I thought Telford were awful and we should have had six. I honestly think they can't believe the result today.
Hope we make the most of only having one target now...we must make up for this performance.....

Re: Solihull 1-2 Telford
I am not moaning, I could have gone today and didnt. But All these changes, all this effort and 1200 in attendance! 750 were from Telford, we do need at least 1200 home fans every home game to compete at this level leave alone League 2 football...
No criticism, as im as bad as anyone today, but this is a potential thorn in our side going forward.

Re: Solihull 1-2 Telford
Was unable to go today due to a big old time mates get together to see Steely Dan at the NEC Arena. They were absolutely brlliant.
Worth missing this game it seems, but I am so pleased we don't have a replay at the dreadful Telford stadium. Good luck Telford in later games, but I am not convinced Welsh teams should be allowed in this Trophy anyway.

Good ole Roj – always looking to cheer folk up. No matter how bad the game was, there is always something worse – we could have been at a Steely Dan gig!
I’m sure hell will have non-stop gigs by Pink Floydzzzzzz, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Barclay James Harvest, SuperTramp and of Course Steely Dan!

Re: Solihull 1-2 Telford
Oh OK thanks for the correction. 900 plus for a Trophy match is excellent really, we do need to average over 1200 home fans for league games going forward but things are moving in the right direction.

Re: Solihull 1-2 Telford
Oh ok I thought I heard 1277 with 850 visitors. A nett 427 home fans.
That had to be wrong we couldn't loose over 1000 fams in one week.
I'm est. Last wks 1778 was 1500 home.

Re: Solihull 1-2 Telford
Attendance was 1577. I do not think it was on the Moors Twitter, but it was quoted on the Telford Twitter.
