What a surprise that Salford are looking to buy the league again!

We still finished above them though emoticon

Good thing too as this season would've been too early for us. Salford and their bags of loot can enjoy it; even the EFL's toothless FFP rules & regs will bite them on the bum eventually if they keep on like this season after season.

Why should they be denied promotion? They won the play offs fair and square.

Now if they get caught out by Financial Fair Play in the future then fair enough.

Dont think we have FFP in the NL. But with savvy moves played by Derby et all Im sure they will swing it no problem.

FFP is increasingly looking like a statute laid down by relegated PL clubs, that along with parachute payments, is intended to ensure the largest investment corporations (sorry clubs) are best placed to return and ensure no tin pot clubs can get a billionaire (as they do) and climb into the billionaire corporation club (or whatever it now goes by)

Salford may spunk enough to get to L1 but will the billionaires interest or the locals interest last 20years?

For Moors an ambition of getting to the FL with a decent stadium and crowds of 2-3000 is attainable and what we should be happy with.

FFP isn’t even a thing in leagues one and two, that’s why Sunderland could spunk a load of money last season without the fear of much comeback from the league.

They have something called Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) which limits clubs spend on wages to a percentage (around 60% I believe) of their turnover.

The main difference between this and FFP is that SCMP considers injections of equity by a clubs owner to be part of their turnover.
So even before considering ticket sales, sponsorship, etc; a £10m cash injection to a club like Salford every season means they can spend £6m on wages.

Obviously they’re well and truly bolloxed if they ever manage to get into the Championship if they don’t find a way of generating other income.

Why are you all so concerned about Salford? Surely Moors are our team and we should all be looking forward to next year and not banging on about Salford!
