Re: Halifax v Solihull Moors 31/08/2019 updates and commentaries
Putting out a 'second string' team next week would be completely unfair on those going 'above and beyond' with the time, effort and expense needed to support.
If the club are entering competitions, it was invitational, they have no intention of taking seriously then they're mugs.

It was made clear at the fans' forum that we were obliged to enter the Caramel Cup, it was not invitational.

Yes I would be even more annoyed, the expense gone to to support the team if they do put a shadow squad. I've already heard the managers not going !!

League comes first. As a fan you have to expect what the priorities are for the club.
We find ourselves in a crap situation after the last 3 games and could get even worse on Tuesday.
The last thing this squad needs is a trip to the near arse end of the UK to play in some phoney competition when football league status is at stake.

Re: Halifax v Solihull Moors 31/08/2019 updates and commentaries
I'm going to Kelty for the weekend away. I'm not really fussed if we send a second string and lose.
Quite simply we can't keep conceding two goals a game. Three at the back is not working for us defensively, and our style of play on the ball is turgid. Solihoof.
I'm a huge fan of 4-3-3 as a system in general. It's my go-to on Football Manager because it gives you defensive stability as well as the opportunity to build a more fluid, unpredictable style of attacking play. So no, I don't think it's coincidental that we've looked better in the games we've lost when switching to that system, which brought us great success last term.

Re: Halifax v Solihull Moors 31/08/2019 updates and commentaries
Thanks for the correction Clive, I was clearly misinformed.
My view is Moors should approach every game with the intention to win with whatever team is required to do so, using squad players, as with Senior Cup, if appropriate. Losing can be a habit then mentally debilitating when going a goal behind. IF the team loses on Tuesday, I'm expecting at least one point, that'd be 4 on the bounce.
Agree the league should always be priority, but Kelty game is the perfect opportunity to revert to 4-3-3 with the first choice players and bring on subs if the match is won or lost during the 90. Then adopt the system for remainder of the season.
Apparently the players are flying to and from Edinburgh on Saturday and with no game until 7 days later, I don't see why they would rest, they are full time professionals. It would irritate enormously that I've spent £60 on travel alone and majority of the weekend for my daughter and I to watch squad players, unless they are on a par or better than the opposition.
I understand others don't agree with my views and that's good, that's the beauty of the runboard.

Re: Halifax v Solihull Moors 31/08/2019 updates and commentaries
I'd be disappointed if we did not play a competative team. I have been looking forwards to this weekend since the rumour started about the possiblity of Moors playing in Scotland, etc. That it is a team quite close to Edinburgh makes this an even better weekend, but I do not want us to "disgrace" the National League in any way. I hope we go there with the intention to win.

Oh without doubt we should be going with the intention to win, I completely agree, and any team that Tim puts out will do that I believe.
Maybe it’s because I’m feeling down in the dumps about our performances of late, after such a good start to the season. I hate it when I can see gaps appearing in the table and it’s not us creating the daylight!

Re: Halifax v Solihull Moors 31/08/2019 updates and commentaries
Most of the decent second stringers are out on loan i.e.
Sweeney
Flowers
Carline
Murphy
And with Maxwell injured it only leaves academy lads.
Danny Wight did a lot of running around the pitch during the warm up, yesterday at Halifax, so if passed fit it would be an opertunity to get some game time under his belt
I'd like us to go up there with the intention to win, and like Roj have looked forward to this visit up to Scotland for the weekend
--- Enjoying the roller coaster ride

Re: Halifax v Solihull Moors 31/08/2019 updates and commentaries
Agree 100% with those saying we need to take this seriously (but then I would, seeing as I'm making a weekend of it). Depending on the Notts County result, the Kelty game will be an opportunity to either build or maintain momentum. No midweek game following it, so providing we don't get kicked to pieces the guys shouldn't be feeling any after effects come the Barrow game.
Moreover I know we're all a little deflated by the recent run, but I'm sure Fylde, Harrogate and Wrexham would all gladly swap current points totals with us. Nonsense to worry about anyone pulling out of sight at this stage.
