Friday night football
Our home game against harrogate town in March has been moved to a friday night to maximise the attendance.
Thoughts?

Re: Friday night football
Can’t hurt to try it but I can recall other non-league teams trying various different kick off times to avoid the Saturday 3pm and don’t believe any have been successful. Friday will appeal to some but you’ll probably lose more families at the same time.

Re: Friday night football
I can understand why they've moved it. Baggies v Blues and Vile at home.
Deffo worth a try as an experiment, might work you never know.

Re: Friday night football
It happens to work for me, not that my schedule should define fixture arrangements.
As PM says above, let it play out and see what the club learns from the experiment.
Hopefully it'll be one of those nice, mild evenings of which March is occasionally capable...

Re: Friday night football
It’s an embarrassing decision and really shows that we aren’t deserving of a Football League place that our owners are so ambitious to get. We can’t be so reliant on other local clubs for support that we can’t even play at the same time as them.
We’ve never done this before even when we were struggling for money and only getting 200 odd supporters in the Conference North. There have been many changes around the Moors in the last 12 months and personally I think they’ve mostly been negative.

Embarassing devision!! Why?
You must be easily embarassed Mr
Mooron.
I think it is a possibly quite a smart move on several levels and shows some level of imaginative thinking. Not saying i would want it to happen often, but once in a while.... no problem.

Re: Friday night football
We’ve always played our home games on a Saturday at 3. Why are we suddenly so reliant on Albion and the Blues that we have to move our home games to accommodate for them. Not exactly treating the Moors season ticket holders right.

Re: Friday night football
It's one fixture, avoiding a big local derby that weekend which will draw away interest from casual fans, let alone regulars with a stake in either club. Worth moving it and seeing what happens. Surprised Harrogate were so accommodating, mind.
Personally, I've always enjoyed our handful of Friday night fixtures. I doubt this will become a regular thing, so why not just roll with it as a one off and see what happens?

As MOOR5 says, as it is a one-off I do not have a problem with it, but I would not want it to be a regular occurence.
Also agree with MOOR5 that I am surprised that Harrogate Town have agreed to it.
