Possible streaming of the Woking v Moors game

Solihull Moors head to Woking on Saturday for the season opener, but sadly due to the current restrictions Moors fans won't be there to support the team. So just an idea if the club were able to stream the game into the SMFC clubhouse would you be interested in turning up to cheer the lads on virtually? No other details yet but we are just trying to gauge the interest. So let us know what you think and the SMSA can float the idea with the club?

I'd prefer to have a stream onto my laptop at home.
Failing that I would welcome a full length viewing of the match delayed. I don't want to sit around in a mask in the clubhouse. Sorry.

I think it's a really nice idea. I'm just not sure it's a good one in the circumstances.

I know people miss the atmosphere and the camaraderie of going to the games, but we'd be much safer sitting at a distance outside watching the real game than getting a large group together in the bar in a high-risk area of the country. There's a second wave breaking and the systems meant to be keeping it in check have been shown to be inadequate, so events like this are irresponsible even with the best of intentions. Plus, the more people keep taking risks and spreading infections, the longer we'll have to wait to actually get back in the ground.

Makes no sense that one is allowed and the other isn't. But, in my opinion, I don't think we should be arranging big meet-ups in the bar just because it's allowed.

I'm all up for it but as Joel has said it's abit risky. Given what is going on at the moment.

But if it did happen I would certainly come up and watch the game.

Let's see tho.

At first the idea exited me somewhat but as I read the reasoning I started thinking that having been careful so far I should not take any avoidable chances, but I will study the plans.

I think it is a great initiative from the club. In the current circumstances something to look forward to. I'm sure however if it is done it will comply with the social distancing guidelines so no reason why it shouldn't be safe and no different to going to a pub (Roj, there would be no need to wear a mask while you are sat down watching it). I do agree it is madness we can't sit outside a watch it live but can watch inside

Totally agree with RoJ :-

I'd prefer to have a stream onto my laptop at home.

............................

In the present circumstances I cannot see it makes any sense putting fans into an enclosed indoor area to watch a match on the screen.

If Hereford could put our pre-season match at Hereford online, I would not understand if Moors cannot do the same.

I agree with the cautions mentioned above, I wouldn't attend as I'm shielding myself and my disabled daughter, both of us being in high risk categories. As for wearing a mask or not, I believe it should be mandatory in all indoors situations, not to protect oneself but to protect other people, it being possible to be an asymptomatic carrier without knowing it. We've given up a lot during this pandemic, both in our behaviours and in our attitudes to our freedoms, so we must remain resilient if we are ever going to get through it. Personally I've not been to a pub or restaurant, two of my favourite places, since February, I didn't see my granddaughter, daughter or son-in-law between January and July, nor since, and have only had three couples round for dinner (not all at the same time), eating outdoors, during the easing period. I've probably watched more Escape To The Country programmes and drunk and eaten more than is good for me, we just have to ride out the storm.

I'd wear a mask in that situation whether it was required or not. I like Clive am in a vulnerable category and so is my wife. I am comfortable outside without, but not in the club bar. I would not go in the bar at half time under the present restrictions even if there was a match I could go to out on the pitch. I want to support Moors but not in this way, so would probably buy a stream of Stoke v Blues as my second choice for Saturday afternoon.
