There's an 'applaud' and 'smite' button underneath every one of your posts, and anyone can click on them once per day to vote you up or down.
I think Fildes' score is the result of him getting specifically targeted with downvotes by a sad and obsessive person(s) with multiple accounts, day after day. It happened to a few users that someone evidently disliked a few years back. I think RoJ, Statto, myself, George, and a few others were targeted -- basically anyone who posted a lot and had a lot of positive votes built up was downvoted twice a day or more until they went negative. Neither Fildes nor anyone else should particularly read into it.
Though I imagine many of Fildes' more manic posts have earned him downvotes down the years!
