Another postponement zzzz
Is anyone else losing interest this season? We're going weeks without games due to Covid outbreaks etc. Can't build any momentum

Re: Another postponement zzzz
Our last game was 5th Jan, if we don’t manage to get a fixture sorted for Saturday then our next league fixture is 26th v Notts County. In a similar way to the discussion about Gudger getting match fitness how are players meant to get match sharpness? Then when we do play we’ll be playing Sat/Tue till April and players will be knackered🤦♂️
One positive is that if the season ends now given our games in hand our PPG looks ok😝
I’ll have to delay the new flags debut....

Hopefully we can bring a fixture forward somehow. I hear dover aren't playing. But this is becoming a joke. I mean for !@#$ sake this is now happening most weeks.

Re: Another postponement zzzz
Yes TMYS. I am rapidly loosing interest and I suspect many others are doing the same.
I agree entirely with you Griff.
Quite frankly, given the exceptional circumstances and massive looming fixture congestion it looks frankly ridiculous that no one seems to be able to re-arrange or bring forward games. League red tape i am guessing.
It also is massively unfair that our momentum (Such as it was) can be lost in such a way. Not our fault that Chesterfield, Dagenham and Yeovil had COVID problems. Who is to say whether our opponents after that will have issues as well.
I would favour giving the Trophy the elbow for this season and just look to complete the league fixtures if we can. Bit of a pointless competition this year.
Only silver lining that I can see is that it might give Howe and Rooney more chance of a comeback.

Re: Another postponement zzzz
Where is Rooney anyway? Still injured??
Possibly the biggest anticlimax I have come across for a while. All that anticipation and he managed about half a game, never to be seen again.
Might help if the club could give us a clue. Is he injured? are we likely to see him in a Moors shirt again this season? or ever? or has he retired? Who knows.

Not sure about losing interest but certainly losing track of which game is next.
With regards to trying to sort another fixture the club are already working on this but we will wait and see what happens there.

Re: Another postponement zzzz
There's a short article with Jimmy Shan in this week's Non League Paper (page 13) which quotes Shan as saying "the Trophy is becoming a bit of a pain because the fixture congestion is ridiculous". Perhaps withdrawing from the competition is an option. On the other hand, with league games dropping like flies, the Trophy provides a scarce opportunity to get some match fitness! It's a tough one...
The same article also mentions that Moors are looking to strengthen the squad in anticipation of fixture congestion, with centre backs and forwards the main areas to strengthen. On Rooney, Shan said "Adam Rooney is another who has been plagued a little with a hamstring injury..." Plagued a little!!?? He's barely kicked a ball in weeks!

Re: Another postponement zzzz
Thanks Bolda. You could be right about the Trophy and a route to match fitness.
Hadn't realised Rooney had a hamstring injury. Don't know why there is such a level of secrecy around injuries at the Moors. Totally get that you don't want to give an advantage to your opponents, but the total lack of any info at all to supporters does seem a bit OTT.
We only need a clue. Not asking for chapter and verse.

Re: Another postponement zzzz
In fairness, it has been on the club's social media and Rooney's social media that he has had a hamstring injury. It also happened during a game so anyone watching would've seen it happen.
I appreciate the club website doesn't tend to carry news on injuries, but it's not as if it's been a mystery where Rooney is.
