Tackle or no tackle?
Whilst everyone's out for Callum McManaman's blood I'd like to say that in my opinion it wasn't even a tackle. The lad swung his foot at the ball, as did Haidara, not at the player, just about clipped the ball first and the follow through caught Haidara. A fifty-fifty ball that both players swung at. It was a footballing accident, pure and simple, there was no malice. At worst both players could have been severely injured. The hysterical comment on internet sites puts in mind the injury to Alex Price against Chasetown; we were all baying for the proponent's blood, the ref didn't even award a free kick, yet, as bad as Alex's injury was, Alex himself declared it to be an accident. Unfortunately sometimes these things happen in competitive sport and they are no-one's fault.
