Man of the Match v Hednesford 25/01/14

This season we are again running a Home Man of the Match competition. One vote per game and at the end of the season there will be a Forum Home Player Of The Season trophy presented to the winner. 1st place 10 pts, 2nd place 7 pts, 3rd place 5 pts. Tied positions will share the available points with a minimum of 1 pt for each contender. Voting will usually close the day before the next match, however if a midweek away match follows, voting will be extended beyond then.

Birchy simply because he's a goal threat. Unlike Taylor.

Taylor was one of our better players today! He worked hard and unselfishly for his team mates. He didn't give their defenders a moment to breath. Ironically as soon as Taylor came off, their defenders started to play from the back which did not happen in the 1st half and they grew in confidence! The hednesford fans that I was stood next too said they where happy to see the back of him!! Even though this was his 1st league start of the season and against title challengers I was very impressed with his work ethic and desire. If he stayed on he would of probably scored.

To be fair he had a decent game. But he's just not a goal threat and Bogle was really missed today, who would have had the confidence to take people on and shoot in the awful conditions, as he did against Gainsborough.

100% agree with Kev Smith. When Omar is missing Michael should be number one choice if playing 2 upfront in my opinion.

From speaking to a high number of supporters after the game, the vast majority all seemed impressed with Taylor. I am not sure if he came off as a tactic, using the pace of Wint, or was due to an injury or knock.

I thought Taylor played well too. He looked quite speedy (until he tired) and chased everything, not giving the defenders time to dwell on the ball.
I'm not convinced by Wint, pulls out of too many challenges for me.
