Value

Yesterday I paid £33 to watch Blues v ManU. A real buzz around Stan's and 24 hours on I'm still enjoying the game. Couldn't really justify paying out as much too often but I do see why Moors have difficulty in getting more bluenoses and even villains down to watch and part with their tenners.
Luckily I can get to watch Moors at Ilkeston when its rearranged: at least I think that's luck. I will have to get back to Stan's soon though: thought I was over that addiction, but I'm not.

Re: Value

Yes, a quality (if rather cool) evening at St Andrew's. Under the new regime £33 is the price for the 'big' games (Madame Brady charged £45-48). £20-25 is the price for the majority of matches. Which I think is reasonable for Prem footy.
The new owners have created a much happier atmosphere around the club. The results have helped as well!
I don't think I'll ever lose my addiction to the Blues. I don't want to!
Hopefully I can get to Ilkeston now as well.

Re: Value

I have never really fell out with the Blues & will always be a bluenose. What I don't like is the way the Premier League has become so elitest & uncompetitive, usually contested by the same four clubs.Teams like Man.Und,Chelsea & Liverpool are allowed to operate with up to a billion pounds of debt, the same happens in Spain with Real & Baca. Also in Italy with Inter & AC Milan.Of the top ten sides in the world I can only think of Arsenal who operate with in their means.

RoJ.. Going back to your point about value.I don't think you were getting good value at £33. What I think you were paying for was the atmosphere & excitement of being there live, watching your team on an unbeaten run against a big club.( overated in my opinion ).

I watched the match in a pub in Oldbury, not many watching,(only about 5 bluenoses) so not much atmosphere.Looking at the match overall the first half was very poor.Blues giving to much respect to United, not very comfordable on the ball, giving it away easily ,but reorganising defensively quickly, enableing them to close down United.Although they were given a lot of possession in the 1st half, they only had one chance, resulting from a Ridgewell mistake.

The 2nd half was completely different some good moves & football. It took a lucky goal to give United a share of the points.

I am glad I get concession rates for Conf.North matches, most of the games I have seen this season have used long ball tactics, not easy on the eye, probably not worth £10. Whereas the Step 4 & 5 games I have watched this season have been well worth the £3 or £4. Teams such as Barwell & Bury Town play good possession football, sometimes on very poor surfaces.

I was quite happy to pay out the money for the tickets Keith and it was the fact that it was one of the four that we were held to a draw byemoticon was part of it. I do agree with you about the domination and about operating on such a massive overdraft (I think point deductions would be a good idea) emoticon
The bluenoses were all buzzing with the potential in this team and that was what I enjoyed, and just like at Moors I bumped into folk I knew. Sitting above the Mancs in the Gil Merrick Railway End was interesting. Now I know they need every excuse to get out of dismal existences in Saffron Walden, Hounslow or Basingstoke but really they are a silly bunch singing about Cantona a lot (didn't know there would be so many film buffs), and there were two lardy lumps stripped to the waist (sad they had neither the individuality to go it alone nor the stamina to keep going into the second half..Geordies maybe).
So I am going on about the atmosphere rather than the football as that is what I enjoyed, but have to say Chucho has some quality moves just needs to shoot past the goalie rather than at him. Blues defence excellent.

Will we have a game on Saturday for me to watch? It will be an interesting comparison.

Hopefully you will have a game to watch at damson park if it's not water logged as it's set to get warmer. Although heavy rain is forecast for Saturday
