@fildes, you are the village idiot, try and get yourself out of JO arse.

Our league position has not changed since his arrival, he is good player but has not made any tangible contribution to push us out of trouble.

You were screaming for Asante, how many goals has he scored since his return. You wanted LM, what difference has it made. My advice to you is to stick to your day job.

Strikers can only score goals if they get the service from the midfielders and they are not getting that.

Decision making of the midfield players are very poor and has not changed since the arrival of your messiah.

Don't understand why it's all kicked off here. Yes we are bottom of the league, and the reasons behind it more complex than a forum scrap could probably resolve.

It's great that Osbourne is back, and results have improved since the new management team has arrived. Not to the extent of pulling us out of trouble, but we appear far more competitive in games. I think Yates has decided to sort us out back to front, tighten up and build from there.

Games are running out and we need to win half of our remaining games to stand a chance of staying up. So it's not likely but let's hope we can do it, the guy making the 'big call' that we will be in NLN next season is neither insightful nor helpful.

Go and have a lie down pal!! Evidently you have been stuck in that armchair of yours for the past 2 months and haven’t attended a game!

To say that Osborne hasn’t made a tangible contribution to push us out of trouble is utter spangles. I’m not looking forward to when Grimsby re-call him because he is streets ahead of anything we’ve got and ever had at this football club.

A chicken and egg argument about midfielders and strikers. They need each other as it is a team game y'know.

One thing I do agree with here is that high ball football has limited effect and isn't wonderful to watch.

Both of my teams won yesterday, and both fan boards have moaning about some element of the team or individual players today. Lets all cheer up and cheer on the team(s) and be happy 2017 ended with a decent result.

Rather than following on in the Maidenhead Away thread, I thought I would start a new thread.

This season has been a bloody nightmare from members of last years squad joining other teams without telling us, to having the home Chester game called off, sacking a manager and then his replacement lasting less than a month to the recent abandonment of the Tranmere game. Some of these have not been the fault of the club and in some areas we could have done better.

Ambition of the club / directors.

I am amazed that some supporters have questioned the ambition of the directors. Some of these gents have put shedloads of time and money into the club (probably more than they will let their wives and partners know), trying to get this club into the fifth tier of English football and to then stay there. Look at the ground improvements that we have done, just in an attempt to keep us at this level. Have they made mistakes ? Of course, they bloody have. They are human, but I believe that every decision made has been intended to have the best interest of the club at heart.

Players not trying ?

I am surprised at this accusation. If this was the case, then how come from the 17 league defeats we have had, 10 of them have been just one goal defeats. Not too sure how we managed to keep the games close if players were not trying.

Attendances dropping

Yes they have. Take away the Hartlepool attendance this season and we have an average of 714 at home. We have lost some supporters this season, but I also think the number of away fans has dropped dramatically as well. People feel disconnected with the players as we keep signing so many. Plus people want to watch a winning team. I agree with Bristol Bear in that if people went to games in expectation rather than hope, there would be a lot of empty grounds up and down the county.

The rest of the season - Plan for next season / survive this season.

If we do go down, then we will be in the National North. We would only go into National South if Brackley Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Leamington all left the National North and then it would still need both Kings Lynn Town and Kettering Town to get promoted to the North.

So do we accept relegation now and plan for next season? If so, we may as well release the non-contract players, pay up the contract players and save money for next season. Sorry, but I am not ready for that . We have worked bloody hard to get into this division, so let us fight to stay here, but not fight amongst ourselves.

We have 20 league games to go. Yes we only have 17 points so far, but we can still do this. Guiseley survived on 51 points, and that needs to be our aim. If we get to 51 points and we still go down, then do be it, but at least we can say we gave it a go.

Message to the supporters - Please keep supporting the lads from wherever you stand or sit in the ground. Keep the moaning and groaning for after the game in the bar, but please keep supporting the players when they are out on the pitch.

Some Supporters need to buy a drum , to drum up the atmosphere ( no pun intended ! ).

You can buy on Amazon and are allowed at grounds.

I used the air horn in a couple of matches , which did beef the singing on 🎶🎵🎤.

A good drum is needed , though , as one or two supporters complained about air horns.

Many other clubs have a drum.

📚 ( We don't want a Library atmosphere ).

Getting a good drum is not the issue.

Getting a half decent drummer at a football match is a very rare thing.

I have an African Talking Drum and I may bring it to future games.

@jr92 another JO sympathiser, you and your clans are a disservice to the SMFC team. Always failing to recognise other team members achievements in order to promote your messiah. He is so good, cannot get into a depleted Grimsby team Wow.

JO cannot play against eleven players so therefore try and recognise the good work of the others around him. He is not street ahead of anything ever had at this club, that is an absolute BS. He is OK in the position he plays and that is all about it.

By the way, I have been to every game and JO is nothing special, he looks good in a league full of average midfielders.

JO is nothing but a proverb that states that "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king"

Happy New Year....
