To be fair, it's posted in the "Unconnected Jottings" section, along with many other non-Moors topics... that's the purpose of this section.

I moved it here!

Ah, well there you go... there is a case to answer after all!

Freedom of speech applies to public spaces, not private websites.

Anyhow, it's not the first or last time a non-Moors thread has been posted in the main forum. At least this one was actually to do with non-league football rather than toss like Man Utd or Brexit.

In the knowledge that this post may raise ire in some, I do have to ask why the Brexit thread (and now the homeless thread) has not 'been moved' to unconnected jottings?

I do appreciate it is not always easy to moderate in these forums, but I am struggling to see how generalist political meanderings relate to Solihull Moors...unless there is a soup kitchen being set up at the Autotech.

Although I agree that the Tamplin thread should have been placed in this section to begin with, it could be construed that it was moved just because it was posted by Fildes.

For the record; Fildes, I found the Tamplin saga hilarious.

I moved this post because it had quickly become a slanging match. My general attitude is to ignore most off subject postings as they usually peter out. Playing the policeman doesn't sit well with me, to quote the writer GF Newman: "I am wary of people that want to police other people". However, when people just start having a go at each other I feel the need to interject. Ryan gets an awful lot of stick on this board and as far as I can tell almost all of it is unwarranted.

To start I agree In free speech, no matter how idiotic or offensive. But, in spite of it being a basis of common law, we have no constitution, so whom ever calls free speech as a self declared UK citizen, could run foul of about six thousand pages of parliamentary legislation that could 'criminalise' your words.

In short, it is very applicable in the US, and I will publicly call Tamplin an embarrassing egotistical tosspiece, he is free to take me to court for libel(ill even say it to him and double up slander too)
But the free speech laws are non existent within the UK parliament, if I were to carry away myself, and, accuse Tamplin of worse, it would, unfortunately, be the moderator of this forum facing civil and potentially criminal charges.

I sure it's clear but BTW I find him quite revolting and don't want to see him in the NL. But hey ho it's prob likely if we stay in the NL between 2019-21 we'll see him.
