As a club that was hosting the event it is quite shocking if true as you say that no 1 from solihull moors was their.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Smfc fildes)Thu, 08 Nov 2018 23:57:43 +0000 Re: Mental health awareness talk at the moorshttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p42585,from=rss#post42585https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p42585,from=rss#post42585It was a fantastic evening with some incredibly thought provoking talks from the presenters. Tom Ross was an excellent compere, getting the tone just right, David Cotterill was so honest about his problems, which explains the inconsistencies with his performance. Michael Johnson talking brilliantly about the importance of small gestures, a smile, taking time to ask someone how they feel, things you can do that don't cost a penny. Drewe Broughton, ex-pro footballer was superb, who plumbed the real depths and rebuilt his life, living with strong values and the importance of being 'you', not trying to be some one you're not just to fit in. Tom Bates was an exceptional motivational speaker who talked about 'tools' that can help when times are tough, one a very simple 20 second visualisation technique that worked. Caroline Robinson talked about the importance of talking, being honest, sharing feelings and alternative or complimentary support such as acupuncture. The final lady speaker from Kaleidescope talked a lot about support provision, prevention of suicide etc. It was terrific to see the whole Blues U23 and U16 squads there, who were a credit to the club, Richard Beale and Paul Robinson. Showing the importance and perhaps relevance of the subject matter it was good to see a number of ex-pros there e.g. Marcus, Maik Taylor, David Busst, Darren Moore. Did not see a Moors player or management which was disappointing The panel, who gave their time freely, stayed behind afterwards to chat with everyone who had questions or share experiences. A wonderful evening, that Richard is hoping to make an annual event, and one I highly recommend everyone to attend next year. Drewe has said he'll send me a link to a video of the presentations, which I'll post here.nondisclosed_email@example.com (B93er)Thu, 08 Nov 2018 08:51:51 +0000 Re: Mental health awareness talk at the moorshttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p42584,from=rss#post42584https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p42584,from=rss#post42584I hope WASU, Mark Yates Stand and all his other monikers attended. Hope it was a good night, not making light of mental illness, merely mocking the idea (lightly) of schizophrenic message board internet personas whilst not intending to undermine the greater message.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Busi)Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:55:20 +0000 Mental health awareness talk at the moorshttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p42579,from=rss#post42579https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p42579,from=rss#post42579Did anyone go to this tonight at all? I was gonna go but couldnt make it. I feel though that i should of tried harder to get their though. Would of been good to listen to the likes of david cotterill and others about their experiences with this. If anyone went what was said. Would love to hear ways of trying to be aware of the signs of mental health problems. Ie. Depression anxiety drink drugs and also suicidal thoughts. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Smfc fildes)Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:16:21 +0000
