Re: Liam Daly shock

Losing such a talisman is a real blow to the club at a time when a bit of stability is required after the recent wobble in the league. He may be in the twilight of his career and not playing at his very best so far this season, but he has played a hugely important and influential part of Moors survival at National League level and subsequent progress towards gaining league status. It seems that he no longer figures in the managers’ plans for this title campaign and it’s a real shame that he won’t be around to share in the clubs promotion as and when it finally happens. Good luck to him.

Am I right, he just got dropped to the bench for one game? And he immediately wants a transfer? A bit premature?

In Tim's post match interview following Notts County, he does say a piece about if players arn't happy as part of the squad then they need to leave. Suspect this was strongly aimed at Liam.

For some reason I have the feeling he has spat his dummy out. He's done it before many years ago when being dropped after getting sent off.

Bob Faulkner era if I remember rightly.

This guy imo is a club legend. And IF the club have told him he has no future then that is a little bit disappointing.

Er well life goes on.

A bit of a surprise but Liam always seems like the kind of guy who wants to play every week and it has become clear that 4 at that back is probably the way forward and the other two are going to be the starters. Will certainly be different without him as has been the main man for the last few years but perhaps shows how far we have progressed that we can probably do ok without him.

I’m a bit surprised at this as it’s still a long season with every chance of him playing a major part at some stage.

Definately premature. Without question Liam is a legend and a great character, but taking on face value, if you get dropped to the bench then surely you should have a go at fighting to get your place back.

Callum Howe and Gudge might get the nod at the moment, but a few good or poor performances and that soon changes.
The best players dont take flight at every setback.

Surely there is more to this otherwise quite a dissapointing decision..

The fact that Liam is looking to move after being dropped does not come as a surprise to me. As Fildes says, Liam does have history for this.

I am a massive fan of Liam and if he leaves then I will happily raise a glass with him and salute his Solihull Moors career, but if he feels that the time is right for him to move on, then I wish him well wherever he goes.
