This prime minister and his government are a complete disgrace.

Yet again today more people have died. More people have contracted the virus. But yet again all he says is listen to the advice and we will send out letters to 1.5 million people telling them to stay at home. Oh and go for a walk in the park

!@#$ off. This guy needs sacking.

I actually think he’s doing a half decent job of this complete mess, not his fault people are selfish pricks.

I agree it's not. But he has got to do something about it otherwise unfortunately we are going to lose a lot of lives. Hopefully people are now starting to listen. Cuz it's just gonna get worse and worse and worse otherwise.

I have been for a walk for 45 minutes in late afternoon and met another Moors supporter coming down the road in the opposite direction, so we had a chat from a distance of a road width. Unfortunately a friend (and I am re-evaluating that) then invaded our space as she just doesn't get the point that we are suppose to socially distance ourselves and she thought delivering a card was more important. This idiot actually has a clerical job working for the NHS!

I think he will do mate as his hand is being forced, he’s given people the opportunity to help themselves but I agree a harder line needs to be taken now.

I have no confidence in Boris at all. He should have stuck to guest appearances on the likes of "Have `I Got News for You" and procreating with any number of random women, and leave the politics to grown ups. I think he is a humorous chap, but when it comes to a sustained approach to any issue he responds with sound-bites and sloganising. Detail is not his forte, and the Conservative need for freedom of choice and low taxes is really being tested in the current climate.

Disagree Griff. The government have allowed this crisis to escalate at every turn with their indecisiveness and willingness to ignore the best practise being established by other countries because they find it too much of an effort to enforce it.

We should be locking down, testing as many as possible, and ensuring in the meantime basic needs are met.

Instead we have "herd immunity -- wait, forget herd immunity! Stay at home if you're at risk -- no we don't know how long or how you're going to pay for it! Please stop panic buying everyone -- *release a series of contradictory and/or vague messages that increase panic* -- the schools must stay open, it's perfectly safe! The schools can't cope? Well bloody Dunkirk, Blitz and all that! Oh, bugger it, better close the schools! Cancel the exams!"

"Some of your loved ones will die!"
"Let the old people die!"

Etc. Etc.

I don't know how anyone can look at the countries out there successfully flattening the curve and think our government has done a remotely decent job in any of this.

My perspective may be slightly different, as I'm in Oxford, which is ahead of the overall national curve for infection levels, and holed up in bed with the virus. I don't think people nationwide will still be thinking the government bumbling along being reactive rather than decisive is good performance in two weeks time when the disease has a big grip everywhere.

Don’t disagree with some of your points mate (especially being more decisive), and I did only say half decent, lessons should’ve been learnt from other countries.

What really pisses me off though is that people in our communities have a social responsibility to adhere to the advice given but are blatantly ignoring it, look at those pricks on the east coast on Saturday. What I both think we agree on is that it’s time for lockdown now!!

More importantly I hope you’re well mate, that goes to all fellow Moors fans👍👍

Absolutely, mate. Too many people have no idea the danger they're putting other people in, even if they'll just be in bed for a couple of days feeling grotty themselves.

Lock everything down now. Wait it out for a month or so. Save time, lives, and money taking the hit now so as we can slowly, bit-by-bit, get things back to normal quicker and easier. And test, test, test. Only way we'll understand what we're trying to fight.

The best response to a pandemic is one where people are complaining that it's an overreaction because they're not getting ill.
