A good sign in my view as it suggests they're entering the game expecting to win rather than simply hoping. As others have noted this mindset can hopefully be transferred to away games in the league. I'm sure Jimmy will be eager to break that particular duck.nondisclosed_email@example.com (dezmondo)Mon, 09 Nov 2020 07:25:59 +0000 Re: Scunthorpe v Solihull Moors FAC1 08/11/2020 Commentaryhttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55193,from=rss#post55193https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55193,from=rss#post55193Coming up to a year 26/11 when we won at Stockport Since we last won an away league game. Scunthorpe defenders found him too awkward to deal with and ended up being hesitant. We look great going forward. All three set piece goals today came from Scunthorpe being unable to deal with our runners from deep and giving up panicked fouls. Same with the pen at Maidenhead last week and all season barring Woking on the opening day. Where my criticism comes from is the number of cheap turnovers we give up in our own defensive third away from home. It's where the cheap goals came from today, and where the cheap goals came from against Maidenhead, barring the late pen when it was already done and dusted. I get the tactical idea, and it works when you're at home and the opposition is set up more to defend. You draw the opposition in, stretch the play passing back and forth, then break at speed when the gaps emerge. It worked fantastically at home against King's Lynn and Wrexham. Away, we don't seem to be adjusting to the reality of the conditions and opposition, and just end up gifting the ball in our own half over and over. Blues showed the dos and don'ts of this approach vs Wycombe on Wednesday. Decent first half, Wycombe had only Adebayo Akinfenwa up front who couldn't cover the first pass, Blues got forward again and again by drawing Wycombe out of position and should've led more than 1-0 at half time. Second half, Blues didn't adjust to the new reality of Wycombe pushing quick wingers on to close the space for the Blues defence, and ended up playing poorly, constantly giving up turnovers in their own half, and lost a game they should have been at least 2 up in at half time. At home, we're playing like that first half Blues. Away, it concerns me the number of turnovers we're causing in our own defensive third. We played a poor team today. Maidenhead were better and more organised and they exploited it. Woking too.nondisclosed_email@example.com (M00R5)Sun, 08 Nov 2020 14:40:44 +0000 Re: Scunthorpe v Solihull Moors FAC1 08/11/2020 Commentaryhttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55182,from=rss#post55182https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55182,from=rss#post55182Really enjoyable game that. Our home form has been great against good sides, but away from home we've been shaky. The Shan Plan A doesn't look solid away from home. May seem harsh given the opposition today, but Scunthorpe are no better than a mid-table National League side.nondisclosed_email@example.com (M00R5)Sun, 08 Nov 2020 14:00:00 +0000 Re: Scunthorpe v Solihull Moors FAC1 08/11/2020 Commentaryhttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55177,from=rss#post55177https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55177,from=rss#post55177FT Scunthorpe 2 Solihull Moors 3nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ojiveojive)Sun, 08 Nov 2020 13:54:22 +0000 Re: Scunthorpe v Solihull Moors FAC1 08/11/2020 Commentaryhttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55176,from=rss#post55176https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55176,from=rss#post5517684 mins GOAL Scunthorpe 2 Solihull Moors 3 shocking attempted clearance from Bootnondisclosed_email@example.com (Ojiveojive)Sun, 08 Nov 2020 13:43:53 +0000 Re: Scunthorpe v Solihull Moors FAC1 08/11/2020 Commentaryhttps://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55175,from=rss#post55175https://bsolihullmoors.runboard.com/p55175,from=rss#post55175Seriously, what are we doing there!?
