Relieving the Boredom or Moor in Hope – Fatboythick’s match preview
This week a new word entered dictionary: Shanbles
Definition: The defensive organisation, team tactics and decision making of the current Solihull Moors Manager.

Tuesday’s performance brought a new low when Torquay busted the “home form” myth, with what transpired was their reserve team (back four made up of two 20 year olds at centre back, a player who hasn't set foot on the pitch for 3 months due to injury, and another player who has been on loan to a NL South side). They have a whole team out injured and their bench was made up of a third choice keeper, who came on, who plays for a Southern League side and 4 strikers (no midfield or defenders)! The only positives were the addition of some pace (and to be honest some passion) from the subs bench, even if they were thrown on, as a panic measure when it was already too late.

Saturday’s trip to Hertfordshire already looks like a dead rubber – perhaps that’s been the plan all season to dampen the overly optimistic expectation to such levels that a narrow loss or a uninspired 0-0 draw (probably our best hope) is seen as a good performance. If so it’s working and the chairman’s programme notes stating “ …. based on our impressive results at home this season, we should be optimistic that we can pick up a healthy points haul ….” maybe need to have added caution to something like “ …. based on our results at home there’s a small chance that we’ll stay away from the bottom three, which without the spectre of relegation, we can be optimistic of staying in the National League ….”
We also come up against our former central defender (Hudlin called him The Governor – and that’s his Twitter Handle too) Krystian Pearce who left the club in January, going from a league 2 aiming financially unstable non contract basis, to an 18 Month contract at the club with the lowest average home crowd. Following his departure Cameron and Howkins were added to the side and so we shall now have the chance to see who had the best deal (if there was one at all).

Our home victory against “The Wood” in September with 10 players (after an extremely early bath for one of the invisible players – Carter) was brave, gritty and showed real determination (well from the amount I saw, on my phone, sat on a wall outside a bike shop in Kluisbergen, Belgium anyway). However like our ability to travel, in those heady Autumn days of post lockdown, there’s been a “wind of change” to the new normal.

Absolutely nothing about today's fixture appeals to me. Massive amounts of shithousery - started already by Wood refusing entry to Moors' media team - culminating in a frustratingly narrow defeat and a few more yellow cards to the season's tally.

Certainly won't be paying a tenner to watch the stream, not sure I can even bring myself to listen to the radio commentary.

Boreham Wood's treatment of media is bizarre. Only their local BBC are allowed in under normal circumstances without paying them a fee. Not sure how that's allowed to be honest.

Surely they couldn't object if one of our coaching staff tweeted updates from their phone? Or would they throw a hissy fit?

What I'm suprised about is that BWFC have virtually a full team out.
No injuries, bar a couple of long term . Not many changes recently, for this stage of the season.
Now we couldn't beat a reserve side at home so to a place weve never done well with a mightily inexperienced team .. a tonking I am fearing.
I'm bored stupid so I'll be paying for it, I'm not spending any other money.
Not looking forward to it mind you I'm sure Pearce is MoM and we struggle....
HOPE IM WRONG...I REALLY DO !!!

Oops 0-1, 1 min maybe !!!

Even the BBC radio feed doesn't work properly. Horrendous little club.

Same here, commentary is awful with annoying buzzing all the time. I'll just keep up via twitter!

Tbf my stream is good.

Pretty uninspiring 1st half, look dangerous from set pieces and that’s about it. Getting dominated in the middle of the park and we look shaky defensively again. Another silly decision has us giving away another penalty and I’m afraid I can only see this going one way unless JS can inspire them at H/T🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

On a positive I thought Ben US looks lively and that throw is immense😳😳

Thank god for craft ale and abv’s above 6%.....
