Why do we need to play in the away colours when we play teams in red and blue? Blue and yellow (If there is enough of it on the strip) will contrast very well with the Daggers and Shot's strips. And is grey and red any more or less contrasting than our old strip?
The Daggers and Shots both wear blue shorts so when we went there we was wearing home shirt, away shorts and home socks. Ideally, it would have been good if we could have just changed into yellow shorts when wearing the home shirts at those two games.

Re: New Kit for 2017 / 18
Great new kit . We look like a proper football team now . To many hoops on old kit , more like a Rugby Union team , and do I not like Rugby .

Re: New Kit for 2017 / 18
Cost of 50 pairs of yellow shorts ... £300....
Chance of use competi g with the likes of forest green (financiallly) or snapping up therefor, the likes of newton, looking like zero.
Still that said, better cutting your cloth clever than blowing money on silly things, the club has credited itself well thus far at this level.
As for the kit. I agree too much blue. Controversial point approaching........
I think we should change to a more violet blue hue. Very few teams have that colour. It would set us apart from the 20 odd teams in the leagues above or below that wear a blue or blue and yellow strip.
Violet and yellow... pleases the eye, it's only been 4-5 years since we chose these colours so traditionalists need to cry.

Re: New Kit for 2017 / 18
Three points:
1. Shorts. Lots of clubs play each other wearing the same colour shorts and always have, usually white.
2. Cost of shorts. As the kits are sponsored the effective cost of extra shorts should be zilch.
3. Hoops. Much as I dislike hoops, I agree with Keith about the rugby aspect, the kits did grow on me over time, and our kits have stood out as being unique, something that was stressed when we changed from white shirts, black shorts to blue and yellow.

Re: New Kit for 2017 / 18
Sorry for any confusion I have caused.
Although I stated that for just two games it would have been good to wear yellow shorts we are only able to wear kit that is registered with the National League.
Re clash colours, from a ref point of view, clashes in colours of shorts don't matter for me as much as it does for shirts or socks.
Look back at the Yeovil games. We had to wear the away kit at Yeovil as the ref did not want both teams wearing hoops.

What about Southport wearing our away kit, then?

Re: New Kit for 2017 / 18
Very surprised that we are changing our kit after one season ONLY!!! Should have kept the kit for 2 years at least.
The current kit wasn't available to purchase for long while into the season too.
I personally hope supporters who bought a top last season should get a discount if they wish to purchase the new one.

Re: New Kit for 2017 / 18
The days of simple hoops for rugby kits are over, now they are far more bizarre, and what exactly was the ref complaining about with the 2 sets of hooped shirts at Yeovil?. I also don't think we should have a more violet blue in case we have to play Fiorentina.
I am just cynical about milking the supporters' wallets and purses with a strip change after only a season at our level.
The recently Aston Rovers shirt incident has just added to my conclusion that shirt buying is not for me anymore.

My guess is that the ref was colour blind, they usually have some affliction that affects their perceptions.
