Burton Albion Reaction

Lads did great tonight, Carter was great again playing great through balls and being calm in possession.

Hylton was fantastic again, caused championship defenders all sorts of problems so i can't wait to see what he does in the National.

Dunkley ran his socks off and probably deserved a goal in the first half.

Lovely finish by Benbow.

Hoping Dapo can re find some form otherwise he may not be a guaranteed starter considering the quality we have in the attacking ranks.

Good game, Benbow goal is good.

Looks like Dapo is not been played in the striker position, so difficult to score goals when he spends the whole of the game chasing back the wing backs.

Also, not sure the team is playing to Dapo's strength, we need to start playing more on the floor rather than lumping high ball all over the place

Re: Burton Albion Reaction

I've been to my 3rd game This pre season and I've been very impressed by the new signings. I doubted whether they would be good enough but already can see why Liam has brought them in and it's early days but already feel we are better than last season. I can't wait for Shep to return as I still think he will add to what we already have. I think Dapo hasn't been great in games I've seen, he played down the middle at Barwell and didn't really impress tbh. All players need to earn there stripes and certainly Hylton has done that, Benbow with his goal last night is on the right path and not sure if dunkley is a signed player or not but has been impressive. how do you feel Hylton has done?? I say this because if it was hoof ball he wouldn't get a kick but that's not the case.
I'd say very good and has been exciting to watch, so the boring comment of hoof ball isn't true. Carter has been impressive at playing a good style of football, I'm surprised at how much we've played against good opposition. So games I've watch Dapo needs to be better which I'm sure he will and the style of football has been very good. Keep the good work up Liam.

Carter and Hylton have been very impressive. Dapo has been very poor, hopefully that will change.

Having been to Highgate,Walsall and Burton I have to say I have been very impressed with what Ive seen so far.Darren Carter has been class and calmly steadies the ship in midfield his desire to win every challenge even when he looks like his lost one is impressive and shows a good level of skill and experience. Hylton looks like he will cause more than a few problems this season, benbow looks confident and his chipped goal last night was class,as he had to make the decision instantly. Dapo is not being played in the correct position so its not fair to judge him, when shep comes back who creates chances he will improve, and I think Liam will move him further forward. Kettle has raised his game and has impressed me,and the little No 5 who played against Walsall and Burton reads the game well. Nathan has been very vocal and in good form and you can see he is fired up and I think we will see him rediscover his best form as a good run will give him confidence. The one player that has stood out for me is tyrese shade and its a shame we will probably lose him he is so exciting to watch and could do some real damage for us this season he looks unplayable.I actually believe he would benefit from a season in the 1st team at moors rather than in the reserves at leicester,It would be nice if they could loan him out to us!Tonks looks good too and there is a good team attitude with desire and plenty of leaders in it.The only reason we lost against burton was their superior fitness at the end which as a championship side they are going to have. With a complete new side(apart from shep)we can take a lot of teams by suprise if we can hit the ground running.Well done Liam and everyone concerned its looking good!

We have a team that looks like it can challenge for the top 10 this season, let us support the team and stop the criticism of individual players. Players do go out of form and i believe that Shep will add more bite to the team and helps other especially Dapo. I think these two understands each other better. And with a new team, it will take time to gel, but the future looks bright.
Support the Moors..

Agree with all that has been said about Carter and Hylton. Really classy players.

Thought that Edwards and trialist No9 also looked really useful too.

Lovely finish by Benbow although difficult to judge him and the other big guy up front because we were on the back foot by the time they came on.

Struggling to see how Dappo fits in. I may be in the minority, but I think that he looks lightweight compared to all the other strikers on show last night (Including trialist No9).
If any are given the chop, Maybe that should be Dappo.

Lots more confidence for the season ahead now.

Obviously I live too far away to have seen any of preseason. It's great to hear that the team has been playing well, but I think we should be a bit cautious in our optimism. The real test comes on the 5th August. If things go as well against Chester as they have in the first few friendlies, then I'll be excited.

The little number 5 is Kristian Green, maybe he will play at CB this season. Depending if Shep plays as a RB or winger. I think Shep would be superb in the position Maye played last night..

I think its easy to forget Dapo is still only 18/19, might do him well to be rotated rather than be heavily relied upon like the end of last season.

I reckon Ash Sammons might find it hard to force his way back in the 11 as well, but can't grumble at strength in depth! Better than having Nortey and Sanussi
