Hartlepool

If you are not aware, Hartlepool are in some form of financial dire straits. They need to find 200k by the 25th or face Administration.
Far from revelling in their misery, it does, though open the possibility of them being docked 10 points and with their form on the slide and the tumult that it would cause, it could offer a lifeline for the clubs down the bottom, although not the way any of us would like to see it happen.

followers of the old Non League Forum will fondly remember tales of the annual AGM Cup.

I believe Hartlepool problems are worse than finding £200k. They have to find that amount every month to keep the administrators at bay.

Well I wish them all the best, saving a reprieve from a madman multimillionaire, Jeff Stelling could get his trainers on for a sponsored walk to Moscow. They may need the money before the World Cup stars, however fast he walks.

Could drag them into the mix at the bottom.

Or make it effectively a bottom 3.

Re: Hartlepool

The accounts of a limited company, filed at Companies House, are readily available. For the latest accounts, those to 30.06.16 see :-

https://tinyurl.com/yalt7t8v

Now what surprises me is this. See the "Going Concern" section under Note 1.1, in particular the paragraph starting "The company has received a letter ..... ". That clearly states that the lender will provide support at least up to 30.03.18.

So query, why is that support not continuing at least up to the end of March.

See that the Going Concern note also says about a loss of over £890,000 in the year to 30.06.16. Clearly not sustainable.

We are talking here about a very old company. It was incorporated as long ago a 1 June 1908. It is company number 98,191. A company incorporated now would have a number over 10,000,000.

Very sad news.

I look forward to Moor5 giving us his business wisdom on this.

Latest and perhaps best and final chance of a saviour takeover has fallen through.
Things looking bleak for poor Hartlepool. Administration and even liquidation a real possibility now. By the time we next play at home we could be out of the relegation zone, I do feel very sorry for them.

From my interpretation the 75k fans have raised would be better off held back and Stelling and others can either make an offer for the club when in administration or use cash for a Phoenix venture. At least then they would be fan owned, and with, what appears to be, a supportive council, build a strong future, where shady figures are no longer able to put them in peril.

So do they lose ten points or are they automatically relegated if they go into administration, i know the national league are very strict with clubs if they hit the financial buffers.
