You should have told them you were with your dad .
Seriously though most of them are fine, we've even been congratulated on how friendly they are by away fans.
As for the stapler? Well, Busi, it is possible to fire staples from a stapler and while your dad may well have no intention of doing so, the guy on the gate would have no idea whether he might or not, so probably under instructions to remove potential weapons, he confiscated it. I noticed they were also confiscating plastic drinks bottles, which again, have been thrown at players in the past. I know how infuriating having stuff confiscated is as I have a daughter with coeliac disease which means she can only consume gluten free food and drink, something I have never found to be available at any run of the mill event but we are still not allowed to take her special diet food in!

Re: Solihull 1-1 Torquay
That food confiscation is surely about a commercial issue, protecting the profits of the burger vans etc. Food is not really a potential weapon, unless of course you are smuggling in food contaminated with Russian toxins.
There is an equal rights issue here if they don't sell glutton free food. Needs testing in court that does Ojive. Go for it.

Re: Solihull 1-1 Torquay
I seriously doubt there is any legal way they can stop you bringing in your own food or drink, especially if you have particular dietary requirements.
They can take the bottles off you if you empty the contents into a plastic cup or something.
I’ve never had a problem bringing in a can of pop or some sweets.

Re: Solihull 1-1 Torquay
It's solely a commercial issue and it's usually in the terms and conditions of the contract (sale of the ticket) that you agree not to bring in your own food or drinks into the venue. It applied at the 2012 Olympics and also applies to Wembley. Try taking foodstuff into any concert venue like the NEC and it will be confiscated.

Maidstone have won their last 2 and I would count them out of it. Woking, however, could be caught. They only 3 home games left and they're against Macc, Dover and Bromley but being on 44 points already they may just have enough.
We need to win the next 2 to have any chance and then not lose at Hartlepool.
I wouldn't rush to count Torquay out of the equation. Their next 3 matches are Guiseley at home, away to Chester then home to Woking. Add to that Torquay still have to play - albeit away - Hartlepool, and have winnable games at home to Halifax and a nothing-to-play-for Ebbsfleet. Could very possibly lead to a sting in the tail?

Day summed up by being told by the steward we couldn’t stand where we have for the last 10 years as it was reserved, nice way to treat your season tickets holders.....
COYM
What surprised me, was the decision to put the kids and their parents in to the Shed End. The language throughout the 2nd half was to say the very least 'fruity' and a few times the 'C' word was offered to various Torquay defenders. Why were the guests not housed in the main stand, which I believe to be more family orientated?

Re: Solihull 1-1 Torquay
You’d get all the old codgers moaning if you turfed them out of the Main Stand in favour of some kids.
If you want a family area the stand on the airport side is the ideal place. Whack up a stand selling sweets and have some games out and that’ll keep em occupied, especially if the football is bad

The area of hard-standing next to the video gantry is a popular spot for the kids to have a kick around... get the subs involved to keep them warmed up!

Yes I noticed this, but they're 8 points off Hartlepool. I reckon you need 51 points this season to stay up, that means they need 20 points, which is a big ask.

Just out of curiosity, why did your Dad bring a stapler to a football match?
