Yes Pyscho....have to agree...
What additional hold ups. You've got to go past Hitchin to get to Leatherhead...It's about half the distance and as said doesn't include the M25 car park.

I do not think you would. You would go down the M40, then join the M25 anti-clockwise.
Whereas to Hitchin you would go down the M1.
But of course we do not have a choice. It is up to Leatherhead and Hitchin to battle it out tomorrow evening. In less than 34 hours time we shall know where we are going.

I think he was talking figuratively about having to go further south than Hitchin to reach Leatherhead, rather than literally.
Leatherhead is nearly double both distance and journey time as compared to Hitchin.

Yes , but I think the road network towards Hitchin , once off the Motorway is more tricky, leading into Hitchin.
Hopefully the M25 , if is Leatherhead, does not have Average Speed Cameras / Roadworks , like the M6 at present !!!.
( Hitchin did not show Moors , much respect , in the FA Cup Draw, too.)

I used to drive on those routes a few times a week too and I'd go for Hitchin every time as well.
Plus you get to go thro the nice Barton - le - Clay village and past Barton Rovers ground.

Both are about the same for me from where I am, as I have to get the train into London and back out again anyway. Hitching definitely closer and easier from Solihull though.
I know a couple of couples who live in/around Hitchin at the moment, so I'd be desperate not to bump into them if we had to travel there. Still would prefer it to Leatherhead though.
