Re: Hitchin Town v Solihull Moors 11/11/2018 updates and commentary

It was very difficult bumping into anyone as there was no segregation. I think most moors fans congregated behind the goal.

Professional performance by moors though on a pudding of a pitch, no real stand out chances for either team.

The hitchin supporters we met were friendly and welcoming

Great getting to the 2nd round for the 2nd time ever. hoping for another non league team in the next round so we have a slightly better chance of progressing to the 3rd. My only fear is IF IF we got to the 3rd round and drew bcfc then i wouldnt no what side of the fence to be on. Would love to play guiseley at home in the next round and show marcus what we're about. Well done moors.

Good day out, football appalling, Hitchin fans were great, soft penalty, fab finish from Danny. Kwame had very poor match, Yussuf did very little, very weak strike force without Jamma !

Thought Carline made a difference, gave their defence something to think about.

Highlight for me was, having a programme from every match I've attended since 1974, was very disappointed they had sold out by 12:25. Walking past the dugout I asked George if he'd get me one from the dressing room after the game. He sprinted across the pitch, down the 'tunnel' into the dressing room and returned with a programme, what a top bloke ! Gentleman George already has my player of the season vote !!

Ditto....

Nice banter with Hitchin Supporters , who prefer to live around there, rather than in Luton !!!.

Well done Moors and the travelling support. Very exciting to be in the hat tomorrow.

Very roughly speaking there's only a 1 in 5 chance (depending on replay outcomes) of our drawing a team ranked below us, so realistically we will need to upset someone to get a shot at the real big boys.

Come on ball 31...

Carline coming on made a huge difference. Kwame has had a poor season and offered very little today.

The penalty came from Carline offering so much more on that wing, staying out wide, dragging out the full back (their defenders were very poor), and created the channel for Osborne to exploit. It was a clear penalty, even if it was even clearer that Ozzy played for it. He got across the front of his man and waited for the inevitable clip.

We won without getting out of 2nd gear today - but the conditions were not great and it was one of those one-off cup games where the home side has 10x their normal support all braying for an upset.

It was the sort of game where it was clear who the better team was but the first goal for us was going to be key. They offered little but would always be a threat on the break at 0-0. Once behind they folded. Always likely to be the case but we had to work hard to make it happen.

Quite liked everyone was packed , fairly close together, with no segregation !...

Good natured banter with Hitchin Supporters.
