Jamie Reckord has been good over te last two season but I think Dom Langdon might be the choice for left back. A considerable number of appearances and a good player.

Was going to say Stapleton. Easily the best player in that 2007/08 squad.

Going back to right backs, who was that nice, middle-class, baldy ginger bloke who we signed from Nuneaton? Not the best player, just would like to be reminded of his name.

Are you thinking of Simon Travis??

That's the one.

Nice bloke, though he came across more like a professional rower or something than a footballer!

I only saw Langdon in what I think was his second spell at Moors in 2014-15 and I wasn't particularly impressed and I thought he was a centre half? I know he had been a key player previously though.

My vote goes to Connor Franklin with Jamie Reckord as a close second.

Langdon played most of his games at left back but could easily settle in to centre half. Can't believe I forgot about Michael Blackwood.

I am going to go for Langdon. Being that extra bit of a threat at set pieces, just edges him ahead of Jordan Gough.

Am I mistaken in thinking George Carline played left back during the season he was picked for the England 'C' team?

I've always thought of him as being a left sided player and wondered why Tim used to play him on the right, if he played him at all.

Jordan Gough

Best LB I ever saw play for us only played once, in a tough crucial match, cup I think.
On loan from Walsall tough tackling, got into a right battle with the opposition name of Sangakara or Sanraka or something ??

Right then my fellow Moorons, time for the centre half’s, need two, some names to consider;

Liam Daly
Alex Gudger
Gaz Dean
Theo Streete
Gavin Cowan
Lee Collins
Fiarce Kelleher
Rob Elvins
Exodus Geohagan

Sure I’ve missed a few so Statto can correct me, also need to add Andy Penny to the list, absolute top bloke.

Real tough one this, on talent alone I’d go for Gaz Dean (should of played at a higher level) and Gudge. However, I can’t leave Dales out of my team, just wouldn’t seem right.

Netan Sansara. Currently at Hødd in Norway. Played for Dundee, Corby, and Telford after leaving Walsall. Has also played in Cyprus, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Norway, and - er - Boston. Which I guess is kind of a country apart from the rest of the UK.

Also has been an ambassador for British Asians in football throughout his career. Seems like he's done very well for himself.

The game he played was a league game against Worcester City, I think in December 2007. We lost 3-2 as Adam Rachel had to deputise for the missing Matt Ghent and hadn't played competitive football in about a century, so made a howler or two if I'm remembering correctly.
