You're right Griff, it does defy logic to ban spectators if you're not also restricting indpor gatherings. A brief glance at the Wrecsam forums suggests large numbers of them will gleefully pile into a pub to watch any broadcast of the game that becomes available...

The £3mil support fund won’t be much of a help given some of the events coming up i.e. Welsh Grand National, full rugby fixtures.

🤦‍♂️

The Welsh Grand National course has sold approximately 7000 tickets at £35 each, according to the course director this morning, so presumably would be looking for reimbursement of approximately £245,000. Wrexham, average attendance 8114, charge £20 for adults so with a Boxing day bump, let's say 9000 averaging £17 or £18, I guess they would be looking for around £153,000 to £162,000. That would leave just under £2.6m for the lesser clubs and events to share.

Couldn't agree more. My oldest friend and I cancelled our pre-Christmas drink this week for the very reason that we don't want to go into a crowded, or even uncrowded, pub.

Swansea are away at millwall on Sunday and they are still allowed to go. The whole this doesn't make sense.

If they are going to do it do it across the board. Ie. Pubs and home and away fans.

You see, I’m lazy and just presume it won’t be enough, loving your work Clive👍👍

Only thing I would mention though is the loss of food/alcohol revenue, bookies fees, advertising etc

I saw the gaffer of our local pub on Saturday morning and he reckoned he had around an 80% cancellation rate for this week, although I fully understand the need to be extremely careful at present I do feel for the hospitality/entertainment industries.

Anybody got any good news?

The Welsh government has no control over ticketing at Millwall unless they want to physically prevent people from leaving Wales, so there's your answer on that one Fildes.

I think that the cost to hospitality you mention Griff is the reason even the more enthusiastic (I didn't just want to say 'competent') devolved governments are reluctant to place restrictions on visiting pubs and the like. Westminster are already doing it the backdoor way by encouraging people not to go out rather than mandating places to close so they don't have to put their hands in their pockets to support hospitality.

I agree it won't be enough, Griff, when you take into account the lack of hospitality sales, hotel cancellations, cancellations throughout the supply chains, etc., also the guy from the Grand National said they usually have about 12,000 punters in total on the day but obviously they can't claim for the 5,000 as yet unsold tickets. It's a complete !@#$ show for the hospitality sector. STOP PRESS, Ricky just announced up to £1bn for hospitality and leisure businesses with up to £6,000 per business, a spit in the ocean.

You've got no chance griff.

Scotland have limited to 500 as of from boxing day for 3 weeks.
