Mmmm
Picked up Mrs O's new car on Friday, a Volvo V40 Cross Country Lux in stunning Passion Red with Charcoal Grey alloys, very sexy, and the car's not too bad looking either but Why Oh Why do cars come with an encyclopaedia? The manual is FIVE HUNDRED pages long. It comes with a simplified 'get you started' booklet of a mere twenty odd pages whilst the manual for the Sensus Media System (radio to you and me) is another ONE HUNDRED pages. I am qualified to write programs in C and C++ but you need a degree in quantum mechanics to get through this tome. We've spent more time reading about the bloody thing than driving it. No wonder it's so bloody eco friendly as you can't use any fuel whilst you're sat in it trying to work out what does what and how many multi-menu options you need to memorise in order not to crash the sodding thing when you try to change radio stations or wavebands. I remember when cars had one light that flickered on tickover and went out when driving to show that the battery was being charged, one that indicated you had your main beam on and an oil pressure light to let you know if your oil pressure was low. What else do you need?
--- What a looooooooooong strange trip it's been
