Hey, leave our kids alone

Well, no actually, if they only come to goad opposition fans, rather than to watch the game, then, in my opinion, they can !@#$ RIGHT OFF. If they believe that throwing their sugary drink bottles onto the pitch at the end is acceptable behaviour, then they can !@#$ RIGHT OFF.

Last week against Tamworth I supported them against the minority Tammy !@#$ but tonight they proved that dickheadary isn't confined to the opposition. I realise that young teenagers, let off the leash of parental control, cannot always be relied upon to act with dignity, nor with restraint, when surrounded by peers who act stupidly, but let me tell you guys, tonight's antics can only bring disrepute upon the club. Support the club by watching the game and ignore the opposition supporters' chants, they are jealous of our situation so, onwards and upwards with a smile, emoticon .

Couldn't agree more. What worries me is that it could be a regular thing next season.

I do love a bit of banter in the shed but it was not that tonight.

The bottles were just an absolute joke. Get rid of that immediately.

I will be making some inquiries about that bottle today.

That said, it may not have happened if the FCUM #4 hadn't come over with the express intention of inciting them. Sad man if his first thought after winning away at the league leaders is "I must wind up some 15 year olds".

Last night was annoying on a number of levels, but I think there was a lot of truth in the FCUM song, "you only came to watch United". The majority of those lads will only turn up to the bigger games. Maybe we'll get lucky and a number of the more nauseating ones won't come again. A lot of them seem completely new to it all, so maybe they'll calm down with experience.

In the meantime, embarrassing.

I completely agree there going to give the club a bad name and we're not that sort of club. I dont know why their trying to start fights either but the club is getting a lot of publicity so we will gain some idiots along the way

Re: Hey, leave our kids alone

As we become more successful we will have to face different challenges, some good ones some not, like new fans who do not understand what it is like to support a non league team. So if we are to grow as a club but maintain our community spirit we have to learn how to handle such situations and educate our new followers in what it means to be a Moors supporter. Having said that I'm not really sure how we respond, we have been wanting to grow our fan base and sadly some of the kids we saw acting up last night will be attracted to a successful team.

I can't see many of them making the trip to the Gloucester game on Saturday but I am concerned that a number of them may use their School travel cards to hop on the train to Kiddy the following week. Bearing in mind we had problems ourselves with some of Worcester's newer supporters earlier this season we don't really want to be seen to copying their style of support. So a suggestion, can the Supporters Association produce a flyer that can be handed out at the Worcester and Corby games which briefly explains that we are a Community club and what that means at non league level. Lots of vocal support and banter is good, abuse particularly when aimed at individuals is not. The throwing of items onto the pitch or into other areas of the ground is not permitted and will result in ejection from the ground.

Hopefully this will have an effect on the majority of them, who on the whole will be decent kids who don't really understand yet the consequences of their actions and it is nothing more than a laff and will help identify the ones who will go onto become career idiots whom we don't want associated with the club. So let's hope we keep getting lots of big gates between now and the end of the season with lots of positive vocal support.

Last night I was surrounded by youngsters who spent most of the second half not watching the game but "interacting" with the FCUM supporters, of whom it has to be said were not entirely without their own !@#$. As for the bottle, I saw two thrown onto the pitch at the end and given their No.4 was a walking dildo but it doesn't excuse chants of "Get your tits out for the lads" aimed at the FCUM female support. Childish in the extreme.

They probably get away with it down [sign in to see URL] but down the moors they won't. You can't get away with hurling direct abuse at people in that proximity, trouble will erupt and problems will occur.

I'd hope a stern word with them will settle them down a bit. Don't think a flyer will have any effect.

Be sure not to tar all teenagers with the same brush of being 'thugs'. Me and my mates aged 14-16 go to games but don't go to start trouble, only to watch and enjoy the game. As OjiveOjive said it is only a small minority.

Funny you say that RoJ, as apparently the bottles were thrown by some kids who left school a couple of years back. I blame those retired teachers...

I think most of the lads there last night were first-timers who will only come back for the supposedly "big" games. They weren't our normal youngsters and they're unlikely to travel away.

From speaking to some of the regular yoofs this morning, they were just as surprised and annoyed by some of the stuff last night. They're all off to Worcester and Gloucester and I'm sure they'll be fine.
