Hinkley
I think everyone is being very restrained in not moaning about our Boxing Day game. Well done, the Christmas spirit lives on.

Myopic....on the blue board has already lost the Christmas spirit.
I will wait till Sat.2nd Jan.before I lose the Holiday spirit.
Happy New Year.

Re: Hinkley
despite the scoreline, it was the most boring game of football i've ever watched in my life, no quality from either sides.

Re: Hinkley
Awful, I agree and I found my attention switching off and gazing around even though I was supposed to be passing on details to Mr Crawshaw for his report. Anybody read it?
Myopia's post on the shriveled and decaying Blue board is predictable but I tend to agree with the bulk of what he moans in this instance.
A very happy ending at The Emirates is helping lift my spirits today.

Re: Hinkley
I very rarely look at the blue board but thought I'd check out what myopic had to say. To be fair he's pretty much spot on and I have a feeling that over the next few months it could be make or break for this club.

Re: Hinkley
Would we be enjoying our football at Solihull much more at a lower level? This was one of the distractions discussed during the drifting away from the game yesterday. Certainly not enjoying what I've been seeing lately.

Maybe. I've followed the local ice hockey team at all levels for the last 25 years and having a competitive team at a lower level is still exciting but having a non competitive team at an even lower level is just plain depressing.
It's not just where we play that will define our future, it's where we find the money to survive should those running the club pull out as there is not a lot to attract other investors as far as I can see.

Re: Hinkley
This was my first home game for 3 months and to be perfectly honest I really wasn't sure afterwards whether I wanted to go back again this season.
The football was poor, a crowd of 400 was expected but a little disappointing for a boxing day derby (indicative of the missing home fans since it was a good turnout from the visitors), no noise at all from the normally buoyant home crowd and most depressingly of all, the home support was completely and utterly depressed and divided.
I think it would be fair to say that we have a club in crisis, and that's not just Myopic-style scaremongering or ranting; I'm calling it as I saw it. We need to pull together for a common cause and some people will have to make compromises.
There is no clear leadership from the bench or the balcony, so unfortunately it could be up to us to try and ride out this season and make sure that it is our making rather than our breaking.

Re: Hinkley
I think your perspective of seeing Moors after 3 months away is interesting.
For years we followed Birmingham Bullets who were always a competitive team, winning twice at Wembley, saw them play in Europe a couple of times on holiday, and there was a real spirit to the supporters. Then the ownership and ambitions changed and everything fell apart. In some respects the dynamics of the support remained but efforts to re-establish a team after years of poor teams with little hope of competing let alone winning proved too much for the enthusiasts.
So hanging on this season is the best we can hope for? Without some leadership from the club (upstairs and on the bench) exactly what the supporters are capable of I do not know.

Re: Hinkley
There isn't a lot that we as supporters can achieve, but a divided and flat atmosphere can't be helping the team.
We either need to rally one way or another. You know what I'm talking about.
