McDonald Out!

After some early signs of promise, its clear now that he is totally out of his depth and has lost the dressing room with performances of late. His tactics are one dimensional hoof ball and most of the players he's brought in are not of the standard required.

He needs to go tonight after today's debacle and either Bertschin takes the reign for the run in or some other experienced campaigner to rally the players to get the results needed to avoid relegation.

Act now before its too late!

I'd like to think it's not just his fault, but I can't see past that conclusion.
At the end of the match it took Daly to come on the pitch and shout his head off for somebody to say anything. McDonald just standing there, arms round players.

No desire, no idea.

Again, I want my £19 back.

Fans actually applauded the team? What kind of MAN would a applaud a 9-0 drubbing? I've heard of happy clappers but that's taking it to the extreme.

That's like watching your Mrs through the crack of the door getting drilled by a stranger type of !@#$.

Understand the reaction - but replace him with who.

Still think (hope?) there are enough points in the bag. Friday v York looking critical.

Agree with the concerns regarding players - said so earlier. Appreciate the club is operating on a lower budget than last year. Perhaps the fella from Redditch who took the hump when I said so would like to comment now.

Re: McDonald Out!

Along with Woking, we now have the fourth worst goal difference in this league and it is usually the four teams with the worst goal difference that get relegated. We have now lost five on the bounce and I worry that Liam will beat Marcus' record of losing seven on the bounce. If we lose on Friday, and quite honestly I believe that there is a distinct possibility that we will due to York being one of our bogey teams, and Woking beat Macclesfield, which is also a distinct possibility as is Braintree beating Guiseley, we will be in the relegation zone.

So what have we learned? Having broken up a successful group of players that played some of the best football this club has seen, we have replaced them with inadequate players that are not physically fit enough, nor mentally fit enough, to sustain a competitive challenge at this level. It took years to build a decent team and it has been dismantled in a matter of months. I hate to say it but I think there could well be a garage sale in the off-season, does anyone know anyone who wants to buy a second hand stand?

What a looooooooooong strange trip it's been

Slight over reaction -
Liam and Keith seemed to be doing fine upto that Torquay game.

However, management of the Torquay game was really poor and that was the turning point. Lack of motivation from the bench or early subs when the game started to slip cost us that game against a really really poor Torquay side.

Before that game we had looked perfectly at home in this division and a match for anybody.

Since then we seem to have imploded for no apparrent reason. Sure we have had some tricky games but we have appeared to surrender without any sort of fight.

Time for the players to remember how to play football and for the management to demonstrate that they do have some management skills.

Hopefully this will be a massive kick up the trousers.

We don't need navel gazing by players on the website. We need hard work, courage and application. One good result (or performance) will bring that missing confidence back.

If not, we will only stay up if others slip up.

Actually think that you have hit the nail on the head Clive.

Think that it is mental fitness (and a bit of physical). A few poor results and a few tough games and the players have cracked up. They were doing reasonably well but a few reversals and their confidence appears to have been shattered.

We have beaten most of the other clubs who were promoted well both home and away, but they all seem to be making a reasonable fist of the fight at the bottom of the table.

Just read the BBC report. Fairly nondescript: [sign in to see URL]

What did strike me was: one yellow card - and that was Tranmere! I'm not suggesting its all about thuggery, however if I was on the back of a 9-0 hiding, even I would have put it about a bit. Couple of cautions - even a red - would at least have shown some fight and spirit?
