Re: McDonald Out!

Don't know who you are but thanks, Boris, I remember a player in the distant past saying "This game isn't played on the pitch, well it is, but it's played mainly in your head".

I wasn't able to make the Torquay game or today's game due to an impending family bereavement but having listened to the radio commentaries on both games the commentators expressed their surprise at how our defenders failed to spot runs and allowed free headers and shots that should have been snuffed out. That is the lack of ability to read the game mentally, but I also think that at this level, where most players are professional, the players that have come in are not physically able to compete. I also wonder at the bringing on of academy players when we are being tonked! We have lost 13 players this term, 6 of whom were brought in and then shipped out again this season plus another three sent out on loan! In theatrical terms you get less than that entering and leaving the stage in a French farce!

What a looooooooooong strange trip it's been

Re: McDonald Out!! Are You Serious

I think its time now that we ALL stand & stick together collectively & aim to beat York City next Friday. The fans need to come out in force & be vocal from the off NOT from the second half, I'm sure the players will respond positively after today. We can play our part to get the team over the line. Don't think changing the manager now is going to help - he has 4 games to try and save us and if he doesn't do that, then I think we need to consider the options. Apart from ruining our previously good goal difference which I thought might save us, it is still in our hands and up to the players to get the 4 points we probably now need with other teams around us picking up points. Also shows how important Liam has been all season.

I can understand the point about sticking together for the final 4 games but where was the togetherness today? There is something clearly wrong.

We don't need coaching, we now need a bit of man management to rally and relax the players, an experienced head for 4 games to lift the team. I just don't believe McDonald is that man and I want us to stay up as much as anyone.

The fans have done enough all season, its down to the players and management now, we can do no more, they need to get us over the line for the supporters and show how much they care.

Just got back!

Well that was well and truly AWFUL

First 20 minutes was fine, we pressured them and a lot of the play was in there half. Then Nortei switched off let the winger behind who played a good ball in and the unmarked striker headed it in.

From that moment we completely switched off, confidence already low that was it. Second goal we completely stood off and let him place his shot in the corner.

Second half we couldn't even be arsed to jog out, walking out despondently.

I feel sorry for Lewis after this game, after all he made numerous saves and saved a penalty.

I don't even know who to play against York, there all useless!

Too late to bring somebody new in and the incumbents are probably incapable so let's hope the players have got enough pride, fight and self respect to get us out of this hole.

The signs were there when McDonald arrived and was allowed to behave bizarrely with the players released and brought in. Im not aware of any of the management team, Bertshin excepted, or one player who had experience at this level or a track record to convince they'd be successful.

If you're playing a blame game it's strange to pick on McDonald, of course he was gonna jump at the chance to manage at this tier, fantastic opportunity for him. He went through a selection process, so perhaps responsibility for failure lies elsewhere....

Absolutely woeful performance.
The defensive errors were shameful - Sunday morning stuff.
More worrying was the lack of fight - even effort - especially second half.
They were a better side than us but not nine goals better - where was the pride in the shirt?
I think it all comes down to the York game now - need to change things quickly.

Re: McDonald Out!

Well i did get Solihull Moors to the champions league on Football Manager so if we need someone to take over temporially, i'd be up to the job

In all honesty, yes things are bad, we were absolutly thrashed and Mcdonald seems to have lost it however who else can we get if we sack him now, we'd need time to search for a replacement and if we're not careful we could be relegated, best to stick to someone who at least has some sense of an idea on what to do, we just all need to stick together and carry on supporting the team, things look bad but every team has hurdles to get through, yeah we've got a 10ft wall to jump over but with enough support i don't see why we can't get through this, game is done now so just look forward to the York game and hopefully the team will show us a performance to be proud of

Oh and another thing. How people at the end could stand up and give applause for that !@#$ is beyond me.

Fans actually applauded the team? What kind of MAN would a applaud a 9-0 drubbing? I've heard of happy clappers but that's taking it to the extreme.

That's like watching your Mrs through the crack of the door getting drilled by a stranger type of !@#$.

Obviously we weren't applauding them based on their performance in that game, but what is the point in walking out early, or telling them all how crap they were? We weren't expecting to stay in this league when the season started and now here we are with four games to go and we're in a relegation battle. When we lost 6-0 at Harrogate last January, we didn't hurl abuse at Marcus and the players, we applauded them and reminded them of how great they had been this season. Marcus spoke about how this was a turning point in our season. Our form since we lost to FGR has been diabolical, I don't understand how we have gone from a team playing exciting attacking football to one with no fight and no goal threat. Mcdonald has looked out of his depth since that Barrow home game, but I believe we have to stick with him as he is responsible in getting us out of this mess.
I don't wanna go back to the North emoticon
