Re: Liam has signed who else should stay or be let go

Would definitely keep Flanagan, the clean sheets
Ended when he got injured and franklin
came back on the team by far a better defender.
Hopefully keep Byrne, shep, sterling and I
believe Vaughan has resigned.

He's solid, does the basic stuff very well and rarely miss-places a pass. Can also add that he's being played out of position at left back as he is a centre half, where he has also played and looked decent.

I am sure YoungMoor will back me up here.

Totally agree. Flanagan is a very solid player, strong in the air, technically good and like you said was played out of position in the most part. McDonald's also described him as the best defender he's worked with

I believe Vaughan had to resign so he could go to Worcester to get fit, as it was after the loan window.

Correct Crawshaw. When I first saw Flanagan I wasn't overly confident, although he came with glowing reports from Redditch and Hednesford. He may not be the dynamic, marauding modern day full back, but as Crawshaw said, he is very solid and plays the simple game well. I think Liam mentioned in one of his previews that Flanagan is a centre back and was only filling in at left back. He gives us options, could play left side of a back three and versatility is important in a small squad like ours. So yeah, one we should definitely keep.

Given Daly and Kettle are currently the only other defenders in the squad, it's a no-brainer, right?
