Solihull Moors 1 Leyton Orient 0
No sign of Martyr today so I will sum up, thus: We bloodywell deserved that, despite the referee. I'm amazed at how much referees either let stuff go or don't see it, particularly with the full time sides who seem well versed in fouling. The irony was that Greeny dived in added time to gain a penalty.... and the Carter missed it, hitting the post! Anyway Jamie Osborne was different class, despite being ring rusty, the most accomplished footballer on the pitch, Dapo unfortunately flattered to deceive and I'm not convinced that Wes Atkinson's positional play is up to the mark, often being pulled towards the middle, leaving his winger in acres of space.
Back to the game. In the first half the Os really rode their luck - or defended like lions - you choose. It was just a matter of time before Daley got on the end of one which left keeper Brill flapping at thin air. A nervy last third of the game was actually well managed and the much deserved result finally went our way. My personal choice for MOTM: Jamie Osborne.

Good performance. Should’ve been beyond reach by half time but ball just never seemed to fall kindly in their box.
We kept at it and fully deserved the win and 1-0 flattered them.
Jamie Osbourne was great, Also thought Hylton put in a great shift.
Defence were solid.
Pretty good all round basically.

Re: Solihull Mpprs 1 Leyton Orient 0
Providing my Jonah status we are on the annual Christmas visit to the family oop Narf. Junior may have been there - just hope he's not planning a house party tonight!
Brilliant win against a side I thought would be pre-season favourites.
And great news about Osborne being back. If he stays for the remainder of the season then there is a chance of avoiding relegation.
Is it like the Moors Green of old - championship form after Christmas...?!

A more one sided 1-0 you will not see.
Orient very poor, they will go down. Heard that McAnuff was arguing with their fans at the end of the game, “it’s not our fault!” We’re apparently the words used.

Re: Solihull Mpprs 1 Leyton Orient 0
For over 10 years I have sort of supported Os by proxy to meet up with a friend and have a beer. It is a proper people's club for East London as far removed from the glamour clubs like Chelsea as is possible.
As arranged at half time I rang my mate Chris who has supported Os since around 1960, telling him how one sided the match was. He summed it up with "Os are S*** at the front, S*** at the back, with nothing in mid-field". You have to agree with him on the strength of that performance, but Moors were so positive and threatened to run away with this match. Relief when the ball actually went in though.
Jamie Osborne being back was great to see. He is quicker and stronger and contributed so much to the performance causing trouble for the Os in and around the penalty box.

Great win yesterday. Absolutely battered them and should of been more than 1 0. Carter unlucky on the penalty miss. 3 points tho. Big game next week. Our season is underway. Whos in charge of the stewards

Re: Solihull Moors 1 Leyton Orient 0
Good performance by the Moors and Osborne and Daly were the stand out players for me.
More football played on the ground and less of the long hopeful high ball forward.
At the end the Moors' fans were singing 'we are staying up', while Orient fans were chanting 'you're not fit to wear the shirt'.
Summed it all up.

Re: Solihull Moors 1 Leyton Orient 0
Agree that it was a dominant performance against a poor Orient side. Would have been nice to see a couple more goals to make the finish a bit less nervy - despite how bad the O's were I was always a bit fearful that we'd shoot ourselves in the foot in the final few minutes.
In addition to the praise for Osbourne and Daly, I thought Hylton was an unsung hero, working his socks off and chasing down their back 4 to keep the pressure on. Kwame Thomas also looked a handful for their defence.
Penalties are becoming an issue. That's at least 3 missed/saved at home this season - is that now 3 scored, 3 missed in the league in total? Although to be fair I thought the penalty decision was a bit harsh on them, but it's nice to see those decisions going in our favour for a change.
Another huge game next weekend but certainly reasons to be optimistic.
