Was at the match tonight and it was just like watching the 1st team. Hoof the ball up to the front two and by-pass the midfield.

Why is it that Mark Yates keeps playing the long ball game, when quite clearly it is not working.
We do actually have some good footballers on the field but they are being by-passed.

It is very difficult to criticize any player for not preforming when they are given the instructions to hoof the ball.

At least it looked like we didn't pick up any injuries. Asante still didn't look interested for long periods.

Mickey mouse cup, now we can concentrate on the league etc...

Two trains on thought on this one.

Yes, the league is our priority but playing in the Birmingham Senior Cup hardly creates a fixture backlog. If we had won last night, at worst we would have had a quarter final game in February, a semi final in April and the final in May.

The Senior Cup certainly would create less of a backlog than the FA Trophy.

That being said, if we survive in the league then losing in the Birmingham Senior will soon be forgotten.

I suppose the senior cup and FA Trophy games give those on the periphery an opportunity to stake a claim for a place in the first team, playing against reasonable opposition (granted it's not many games)

Based on last night's performance, I don't think any of them did their 1st team cause much good.

I was looking forward to seeing players perform against a team who were struggling in their league show us that they were worth a place in first team but left dissatisfied by what we saw.
We had young players who put the effort in but the more experienced players never seemed to help them out there was no team work just going through the process.
