Trophy rules state it needs to be played by Thursday

I must have heard this a dozen times last night, but it is not correct. If a game is postponed or drawn, then the rearranged game or replay needs to be played by the following Thursday. In the event of an abandoned game, the National Game Board will decide what action is to follow.

As Fildes said earlier, until there was something to announce, the club could not announce anything.

Following the abandonment of the game yesterday, Solihull Moors had to submit a report to the Football Association (probably the Competitions Department) and explained what had actually happened. I would imagine we also had to tell them what we were doing to make sure (a) this never happens again and (b) if the lights failed again, what back up we have in place.

Despite the fact that some Tranmere fans are bashing us on Twitter for making their team play on Monday, it was not our decision. We just had to present facts.

One of the rumours last night was that the game may be switched to Prenton Park. Whilst that was an option, on Tuesday night Tranmere are hosting Liverpool Under 23's against PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League Internation Cup (no I had not heard of it either until this weekend) and as such Prenton Park is out of bounds for that night. I would also assume that means that a game cannot be played on it 24 hours prior. With this in mind, it is possible that Tranmere have said that with guarantees regarding floodlights in place that their preferred option is to come to us on Monday night.

Re: Solihull 0-1 Tranmere - GAME ABANDONED

I had read the rules as if the Moors were not at fault then it had to replayed by the Thursday and if they were at fault it needed to be submitted to the FA and they would decide. I suppose it comes down to who is at fault for a power failure.
I still think the club could of posted a holding note similar to yours Statto explaining the process and procedure.
Anyway second chance tomorrow night.
