Solihull Moors 2 Tranmere Rovers 0

A well deserved win tonight with a stonking Jamie Osborne 30+ yarder into the keepers top left corner on 7 minutes set the tone for the game. Moors outplayed and outfought Tranmere and a pen before half time sealed the game for The Moors. The referee was inconsistent and failed to protect Osborne who was singled out for some particularly rough treatment, being floored several times. In the end the best performance of the season so far saw Moors through to round 2.

Great result great performance. Not going to comment on the ref ( even though i thought it was a red card) lets carry that performance into saturday and get 3 pts on the board.

Sublime goal from Jamey Osbourne well worth braving the cold weather for, hope his injury isn't as bad as feared. Good performance Tranmere never really threatened our defence. I was at the wrong end for the penalty, didn't see anything wrong, told it was for a push on Kelleher. Has our luck changed? I hope so.

I thought it was a great performance.
Osbourne was outstanding and that was probably the goal of the season so far.
Think he injured himself over stretching before he came off so hope it’s not too serious- he’s gelling the team at the moment.
Thought Hylton had a good game too - got behind the defence time after time.
But I also felt he followed through for the sending off and wasn’t surprised it was a straight red.
Good performances all round though.

Good performance against a lacklustre Tranmere side. I don't think they were at full strength nor playing much like they wanted to stay in the competition, but Moors could've had 4 or 5 on a different night. Can't take much away from the performance at all.

Not sure I would've given Hylton a card, let alone a red. The ref was unsighted and seemed to go by the reaction of the player.

The pen was for shirt pulling and a good call.

From our angle the ball was kicked directly into the little Tranmere players shin and there was no contact with him by Hylton's boot. I was amazed that it was considered even a foul.

Yes, excellent performance for the full 90 minutes. Great goal from Osbourne. I didn't see what caused the penalty but at least we scored it!

Thought the sending off looked harsh from my angle, seemed like a 50-50 ball to be won - if Hylton had gone down instead, maybe the Tranmere player would have been sent off.

Would have been nice to see at least one more goal for Moors, wasteful on a few occasions in the second half.

Spoke to a Tranmere fan who said they'd put out a pretty strong 11 but didn't think they should try too hard to stay in this cup, so they could concentrate on getting out of this league so they don't have to come to places like this on a Monday night! emoticon

No Carter tonight and we won comfortably, outplayed the opposition for 90 minutes and scored a penalty... emoticon

100 percent a red card. In this day and age you cant tackle like that. Were in 2018 in 2 weeks. He may of won the ball but its the way he went thru.

That is not what I saw. If only Martyr had been there, rather than working whatever it is he does that he calls work, we could have had the definitive version of events posted here by now.

Lets be fair the ref had a clear view and was close enough
to the incident.
A straight red for me, a shame because we were the better side .
Best performance so far this season.
Looking forward to Saturday.
